Ben Elton's "This Other Eden" is my favorite of his novels. His books seem light but they pack a punch. They are definitely a fun read. He's British so you get that terrific Brit irony and humor. Let me know if you read it and if so, if you like or hate it ;-)

Hi MicJ! I'm curious...How are you liking shelfari so far? Having fun? :-) Do you still hang out on 43T? I sure enjoy both sites, but in different ways.

    hi mic!
i'm replying to your question via your notes b/c sending this via email would convert the text and be confusing, i think. :)
I just learned to italicize! ha
Basically, say I wanted to italicize the word cookies...

    I would do the following: [ i ] cookies [ / i]
If I just wanted to make cookies appear BOLD, I would do this:
    [ b ] cookies [/ b]

I think if you'd like both at the same time you would do this:

    [ b ] [ i ] cookies [\b] [ /i ]

(no spaces inside the brackets, just did that so you could see what letter was there)

Did I explain this ok? I hope so :)

Hey there! Thanks for the friend invite :) I was looking through your shelf the other day and we share several in common. I joined Seekers after seeing it on your list of groups so we'll be running into each other here and there.

    Dear micJ ,
Your etiquette was just fine sir, I might have forgotten to check back a/b your response on your discussion thread, so what you did was perfect for me! :) LOL

I'm glad you're excited to be with us at 24 Challenge! I really copied the idea from the 50 book challenge, but wanted to make the challenge only 2 books a month, so I could feel really cool if I went past that! :) but not bummed if I didn't. Make sense? Too, I wanted to be able to talk about books and book related things with a community. I thought if I desired this, maybe their were others with similar wants! ha You may also want to check out 50 book challenge if you are an avid reader--I see nothing wrong with double-dipping. haha

About Gaiman...I actually haven't read anything by the author and your 24 list is what even made me aware of the fact that he authored the book Stardust. I just did a Wikipedia search to see if the movie I just saw was based on the book you mentioned, and learned YES. Just got me excited :) I really loved the movie... I put the book, Stardust on my wish list, thank you micj. Do let me know how you like the other books by him later!
