“A heartfelt historical novel of pre-Civil war slavery in the Maryland/Chesapeake Bay area.
The focus is a house slave Liz Spocott who escapes from the masters who owned her. She has the ability to see the future in her dreams, she has the ability to lead and inspire others to follow her dreams out of slavery.

This is a sad and poignant story of a young woman who has hope and who's not afraid to take charge of her life, even in the face of extreme danger to her and to anyone who dares help her.
We learn of the secret codes, phrases and meanings created by those who would defy the slave owners and the slave traders in an effort to escape or help other slaves escape from their cruel masters and slave traders.”
