Hi Mia, hope you are well! I finally joined facebook if you are on there. I'm reading the new Dan Brown right now, it's actually much better than I thought it would be.

Hi Mia, Salam alaikum....Thanks for your invitation and welcome. I am now trying to transfer my Shelfari account to the myspace app, but having some trouble. I should have added the app in the beginning, before I added all the books. Anyway, I will figure it out. Being part of Shelfari has motivated me to read more, so I'm glad you invited me. Thanks.

I never understood those cliffs notes, gotta be for cheaters that dont want to read the book at all! I think I will finish up the book I am reading, then start Heart of Darkness. I'm excited, I've been curious to see if it will hold up now that I'm not in high school and reading it for class.

Hey Mia, if you read Heart of Darkness, let me know and I will re-read it with you! A friend of mine re-read it for a college course and liked it better than when we read it in high school. If I remember right, you won't need cliff notes and it's a pretty short book. :)

I'm doing good. I had surgery on my leg 3 weeks ago so I've been home bound and reading a lot of books. I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you. I'm sure you are ready for a much needed break. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Hi Mia dear, I did see the Bees movie and I really really liked it. I had just re-read the book that week so it was all real fresh in my mind and I still really enjoyed it. The soundtrack is going to be awesome.

    Hi Mia!
I loved "Choke". It was recently made into a movie that I decided I wouldn't even waste my with. The previews looked that horrible. You have a great shelf and I picked a few books from you to add to my 'to be read' pile. Thanks!

    Hi Mia,

I know what you mean about being buried in school books...been there, done that! People used to think I was crazy for reading for pleasure during school breaks. How much do you have left on your degree?

OMG! I just got through reading an awesome historical fiction book. It's called "The Widow of the South". I loved it!!! A couple of other good ones that I have read recently are "The Thirteenth Tale" and "The Tenth Gift". Great books! About to start reading "The World According to Mimi Smartypants".

The Stand is an awesome book! Way better than the movie. Stephen King really psychoanalyzes all the characters in detail. It's very interesting.

The Unthinkable: Who Survives When Disaster Strikes - and Why
    by Amanda Ripley
I was trying to reccomend the book via shelfari but couldn't figure out how. Anyways, I just picked this book up today, I heard an interview with the author on the radio and it sounded very interesting. I read the intro at the bookstore and think you might like it too since you are studying psychology.

I almost picked up another Notaro book today but decided on a Jen Lancaster called "Such a pretty fat" One narcissists quest to discover if her life makes her a** (censored again) look big or why pie is not the answer. haha, I couldn't pass up for the title alone! Have you read any of her books?
