Hi there, I see you some Scandinavian crime/mystery fiction on your shelf, I just started a new group to discuss our love of these novels, maybe you'd like to join in at http://www.shelfari.com/groups/29924/about or search for Scandinavian crime. "For the Love of Scandinavian Crime and Mystery Fiction." Hope to see you! :)

    Hi,
Sorry for the delayed response - haven't been into Shelfari for a long time. Yes, the idea of reviewing what I read is interesting. Except that it is too much work. :-) May be I'll do it when I retire (which is a looooong way away, unfortunately).

    Yes Mary,

I don't have the abreviation wrong. I spelled the word Maryland out, and it just gave the first couple of letters.

But good heads up looking out anyway!

    THANX!

sounds like an interesting book - is it a fictional story then or an account of a person's journey?

    Hi!

Yes i enjoyed the winter queen - it's rather reminiscent of sherlock holmes, and the very early detective-type books. One of his other books, the leviathan, is a real whodunnit in the agatha christie "murder on the orient express" style - somebody dies on a ship, and all the passengers are suspects...

I also enjoy hening mankell's books - there seem to be a lot of scandinavian criminal books - something to do with the weather i suppose....

Hey! Thanks for the note! Not sure which book you are referencing, though. What genre of books do you enjoy?
