When not slaving away at my desk M-F, I enjoy reading (given), playing softball in the church league, putting my newly acquired... more »

It is the royal coat of arms of Scotland. Not exactly sure where the picture was taken. And yeah, I need to start the King Raven trilogy! Lawhead is one of my favorite authors - easily in the top 10. Not sure why I haven't started reading it yet... :-)

It was fairly easy for me to get into, I enjoyed it a lot more than I usually do new fiction.

Thanks for joining the group Mentoring Men. Please jump right in any on-going discussion, especially stop by the thread on Introductions and give a shout out. I'm looking forward to all you have to offer and hope you find something worth receiving. Please feel free to begin new threads of discussion about those things that are on your mind and pulling at your heart. Also, please invite your male friends to join so the discussing can become more vibrant.

Ha! I was just getting ready to post a message on your board. :-) I was going to say that I had just finished reading all of the Vince Flynn books (apart from Protect and Defend, which I still need to purchase), and it was time to get started on my new books. :-D

I started reading Quicksilver but lost interest after a while. The subject matter and time period is very interesting, but it reads something like a history book adapted into a novel. It isn't as good as Cryptonomicon. However, I do plan to finish it - once I finish the large stack of Vince Flynn novels I purchased at Half Price Books. Another Stephenson book that disappointed me was Snow Crash. The book would have been awesome, except the main subject - a 'computer' virus transmitted visually or through injection that infects humans - was really stupid and completely implausible.
