Dear Mentha,Thank you for your kindness as well. I also love Shelfari and thanks to the site I've made some Iranian friends. One thing I like about your people is that you deeply love your history and culture with a healthy pride, far from being arrogant (you are also curious to learn the good things from other cultures). When I came to Portugal, I found that many Portuguese laughed at the "silly" Spanish "nationalism" that translates "everything" into Spanish when you could use the English word (e-mail, download, link...). Well, "silly nationalism" would be not accepting things coming from outside, but the Spanish were clever enough to see that the Americans had invented something fantastic (the internet) and adopted their invention. Now, why should we also adopt all their terms if there are ways to say that in Spanish? There's nothing wrong in adopting words from outside (the Spanish language has a few thousand words of Arabic origin --this was al-Andalus!), the problem is when you develop an attitude that automatically prefers ANYTHING come from the outside to your own identity. So, no matter the criticisms we might point at our own worlds, at least your culture and my language are in a good state of health :) And the beauty of Shelfari is that you can meet readers from so many places in the world!

I like the Iranian friendliness, and I think the Iranians are somehow heroic to continue contributing to Shelfari despite the difficulties :)Don't make me blush praising my knowledge of Farsi :P --I can only boast some knowledge of Arabic (I took a degree in Arabic linguistics many years ago). But I might learn Farsi in future. Sometimes I have some fun when I know a word in an Iranian text and try to guess the rest of the meaning.The sunnis in Lisbon are celebrating the 'Eed. I guess the twelvers have the same calendar, so it should be a day to celebrate in your country as well. I wish you a nice day! :)
I followed the same principle for new edits, but left undecided "Persian Popular Vocabulary" » "Vulgar Encyclopedia". While the Wikipedia lists your English title, the original cover has three words in Farsi, two of them being something like "popular language(s)" according to my knowledge of Arabic.If "vulgar" could mean "popular" in academic language (from Latin "vulgus", "the common people"), the fact is that the first thing one might think in English is "tasteless" or even "indecent", so I am unsure if other users of the book might agree to the new title.
Hi Mentha!I approved your title change request for Ensān va Hayvān, adding in brackets the English translation, although it was not necessary since I don't think it would be easy to get an English translation. Nevertheless, the English title seems to be known in different sites, starting by Wikipedia. What I would not approve is an improvised translation by an editor in Shelfari (the book should be ideally translated or at least known by the translated title).If another Iranian requested to revert the edit, I would also approve that request: in fact, in this case, there are arguments in favor or against both options :)Notice, nevertheless, that the search will only find the book if you put in it the title registered by Amazon: so write in it "Insan va hayvan" and you will find "Ensān va Hayvān (Man and Animal)".Khoda hafez :)

سلام م.انتهای عزیزممنون از لطفتمتاسفانه به خاطر سفرهایی که دارم مدتی است کمر فرصت حضور در شلفاری را دارم ولی همیشه صفحه کتابهام را به روز می گذارم. من و نگار چند ماهی در سفر دریایی بودیم و به نت دسترسی نداشتیم و حالا پس از دو ماه که برگشتیم دوباره باید به سفر دیگری برویم. در این مدت هم دائم من درگیر امتحاناتی بودم که مجال فعالیت را می گرفتممنون که به یاد ما هستی . من فکر کنم شلفاری نیز نیاز به تغییراتی دارد. در سالهای گذشته من با بسیار از دوستانم در این سایت حضور ی فعال داشتیم و هر روز تعداد زیادی مطلب برای هم می نوشتیم و صخبت می کردیم . من با تعداد زیادی از دوستان کنونی ام در این سایت آشنا شدم چون براحتی با افرادی درگیر می شوی که فکر و سلیقه اشان را در شلفشان به نمایش گذاشته اند اما حالا دوستان نیز کمتر به سایت شلفاری سر مس زنند و همه فیس بوک را ترجیح می دهند . هرچند که کاربرد دو سایت فرق می کند اما فکر کنم شلفاری نیز نیاز به تغییراتی داشته باشدموفق باشی

سلام. به شدت عاشق این کتاب رومن گاری هستم و فکر میکنم واقعا ارزش 5 ستاره ای که به این کتاب دادید را دارد. یادمه چند سال پیش گزیده ای از این کتابش را گلچین کرده بودم.(یادم نیست اون زمان جزو دوستانم بودید یا نه) اما من هم از خواندن این کتاب لذت بردم. خیلی هم اتفاقی با این کتاب آشنا شدم. برای یکی از دوستانم کتاب میخواستم بخرم و فروشنده خداحافظ گری کوپر را پیشنهاد کرد. خدارا شکر هم من راضی بودم و هم صاحب کتاب
