Hello!
I have worked in the health and beauty industry for some 30 years, gaining international qualifications in clinical nutrition, exercise, beauty therapy and cosmetic science.
After working for some of the top cosmetic houses in the UK,
I moved to Asia, where in-between having my two wonderful daughters, Amber and Yasmin, I operated a nutritional clinic, as well as writing articles for various health and beauty journals for the expatriate community.
Around two years ago I started having various unfamiliar physical and emotional symptoms.
Hot flushes, sleepless nights and erratic periods were not things I was used to in my daily routine – at one stage it crossed my mind that I could be pregnant, and then my hypochondriac self, started to believe I might have some serious illness. So I went to see my doctor who very calmly informed me, that I was in fact going through the menopause. My first reaction was - thank the lord I wasn’t pregnant; my second reaction was – what! No, wait, surely this can’t be happening yet – I’m too young to be that old!
Once I had gotten over the relief of not being pregnant and the shock of now officially being of a ‘certain age’, a sense of renewed optimism crept in. This really felt like the beginning of a new chapter, a fresh start, a time to drop all the bad habits and take up new ones. This new phase was like a breath of fresh air and certainly not something to feel morose about.
Things were looking good again, and I needed to channel all of this new-found energy into something worthwhile. So I took this opportunity to adapt my many years of knowledge and expertise in diet, exercise and beauty, and adjust it all to meet the changing needs of our menopausal bodies. Now I will show you how you can apply it to your life to keep you fit and active for the years to come.
While researching this book I found that most of the information out there, was quite ‘medical heavy’ and far too in-depth. Of course, medical issues have to be covered and I have spoken to many doctors and consultants, who have very kindly shared their professional knowledge with me. But this is not a medical book, the focus is on total balance, not anatomy. Therefore, inside you will find information on how to understand the ‘whole’ you, and how you can accomplish a synergy of the mind, body and soul… This is
The Menopause Secret
Another issue that came to my attention during this time was the lack of specific skin care products to deal with my changing skin needs. We have a high concentration of oestrogen receptors in the face and this is where the symptoms of the menopause may be at its most visible. I was concerned the products out there were not addressing these needs.
With extensive research and my cosmetic background experience, I went on to develop the ‘Phytomone ™’ skin and spa therapy range, specifically designed for hormonally changing skin.
The advanced formulation resulted in a carefully selected blend of bio-active ingredients to feed and nourish the skin and address the deeper lines that were now starting to appear, without the need for surgery. A cocktail of vitamins, minerals and essential oils, all specifically required during this stage of life were also added. The result is an impressive, luxurious range of skin and body care products that will target the problems we are facing.
I hope you enjoy using them and I’m sure you will find them beneficial.
