It was actually my daughter who suggested I read this book; my daughters have read Ms. Meyer's Twilight Series. At first I was skeptical but, admittedly, I was hooked from the first chapter.

I would read a chapter here and read a chapter there. The story was compelling enough to allow me a couple of days in between readings. However I quickly got to the point where I could not put the book down, finally finishing it during dinner.

My only complaint is that the ending, in the context of the entire story, is a little anticipated but the details are a bit of stretch. That's my opinion.

This is the first technical book I purchased. As a software developer, this book was invaluable during my early years.

I didn't realize how much I looked forward to reading it until after I turned the last page and put the book down. Fascinating story of a father, son team surviving the 'wild' of a post-apocalyptic world. Riveting. Sad. I plan to read more of McCarthy's works .
