I'm a hopeless romantic...but mostly just hopeless. :) I'm a dreamer in all aspects of my life, which is why music and the arts influence me more than most things. I'm probably the most open-minded person you'll ever meet, which is not to say that I'm easily influenced. I'm a good listener. At this stage in my life I'm really just trying to... more »

Hey, yeah "No Country..." was written by Cormac. It's really good, but a fast read, you can read it in 4 to 5 hours, depending on your pace. As for the Border Trilogy, those have much more depth and take longer to read. The trilogy is comprised of "All the Pretty Horses", "The Crossing", and "Cities on the Plain". I've seen his books alot at used bookstores, so if your thinking of buying em, try the used store first. He's got some other supposed good books. Two more that I own are "Blood Merridian" and "Suttree" which at some time will appear on the book club page. We are gonna read "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" very soon, it's already posted. I should start it maybe tomorrow, depending how fast I finish the optional book listed "Sister Alice". If you can try and read the Jonathan Strange one. Look at some reviews and I think it may interest you to try and read it. I found it in Hardcover at Borders in the Bargain Book section for like five dollars. It also won the Hugo award for best novel, in I think 2005. OK for now, I'll talk to you soon, Bryan.

P.S. I see you've read "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. Wasn't that an incredible book. My favorite by him so far. I've also read "No Country for Old Men" which I highly recommend. It's written in the same style as "The Road". I've also read the Border Trilogy which starts with "All the Pretty Horses". Those books are good too. OK, later, Bryan.

Thanks for being my "friend". So, I started a book club, which is doing pretty good so far, I am hoping you will join the book club, so I'll send you an invitation. We read sci-fi/fantasy/literature and it's been fun so far and we could use you. We are finishing up a couple short novels by C.J. Cherryh, who, in my opinion, is a fantastic writer, and you should try her if you've never read any of her writing. We recently read an awesome trilogy by John Varley that ended up better than I expected (alot more satirical). Next up are two short works by the big D, meaning Dostoevsky. OK, I'll send you the club invite now, so I'll talk to you soon, Bryan.

Hi Melissa, I sent you a friendship request. I'm looking for people to join my book club called "Bryan's Book Club". I know I could have been more creative with the name, but sometimes simplicity works. Anyway, check out my shelf and on my profile you should see the link to my book club. Take care, Bryan.
