“This book deals with a subject Americans are familar with- the bombing of Hiroshima. However, it explores the event and its aftermath in a way hardly any American can claim to know so intimately. I have to give this book 4/5 because of the way the author brings three, intertwined stories to life so well. The only reason why i'm not giving it a 5/5 is because, although the prose is amazing, I felt that some parts in the middle were drawn out too long. The beginning and end are written well, and definitely caught my attention. If you're looking for a light, historical read, this book is not for you. This book is for those who are willing to delve into a painful story, and see how one day, a few seconds even, can change lives. ”
