“I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't. I read halfway through & skimmed the rest. To me, his language just kept going on and on with no real point. There were some really nice lines & descriptions, but they were few & far between in this mess of words & people and infidelity. I honestly thought the infidelity would be more interesting, but it wasn't. It was just boring, and so were all these couples. There wasn't really any one character I liked at all, but I didn't dislike them either. I guess that's what bothered me most, they were all predictable and boring. If you want something immensely better about American culture read "Revolutionary Road" ... soooooooo much better. ”

The Red Queen

“I read The White Queen & LOVED it and was really looking forward to this book. However, this one SUCKED! Margaret, from the very beginning to the very end, is a very unlikeable character and she's boring. I didn't even want to finish the book, but I was already halfway through it :/ It just felt very choppy and overall it was pretty annoying.

The best thing about this book is that I borrowed it from work so luckily I didn't have to pay for it. Avoid it if you can. Read The White Queen or The Other Boleyn Girl... or any book that is not this one. ”
