I started out not liking the beginning of this book but kept reading because my friend loves it so much. I wasn't disappointed. It's pretty disparaging to women, but its hilarious and honest and he puts himself down just as much as he does others.

If you want to seriously laugh out loud, read this book. Sooooooo funny.

Amazing love story intertwined with a love of Niagara Falls. The language is beautifully written and the characters are believable and realistic. It not only tells a beautiful love story, but a story of faith...

Quick and interesting read. I love historical fiction and the way Gregory wove in the families history with magic and Melusina, the water goddess, was beautiful and different. It reminded me of those times when magic, curses and other witchcraft was taken seriously. It is also a glimpse into the past where ambition and fortune meant more than anything else...

The story seemed interesting which is why I picked it up. But as the story progressed I began to lose interest. The writing is inconsistent and the chapters seem to jump around and get confusing. The whole thing just seemed like a big mess by the end and I didn't even care anymore what happen to any of the characters.

Really good read that keeps you interested. I really love how it makes you think about life, about what's important and about what you could do differently and what you could do now...

Really sweet and imaginative story. I loved the idea of where dreams come from, but after reading The Giver and Gathering Blue I have to say this book fell far short of those. It was a lovely story, but nothing that really grabbed at you and I feel one didn't really get to know the main human characters either, they just came off as stereotypes... not fully developed characters. Nice story though, very sweet.

I love Coupland sooooooo much. Thank goodness I found him. I just finished The Gum Thief and while I love Coupland and his words, this wasn't my favorite book. Not to say it was bad either, it wasn't at all. It was very sad and real and touching. I love the way he says the things you've always thought, but never shared. And his weird off the wall ideas about life or whatever. I really liked the idea of the book being broken up and being shared by various people, but I think its missing something. Also, Glove Pond had such promise and I don't think it quite ended in a satisfactory way. That said, I still really liked the book and quoted many parts of it. Check it out, its a good read.

Amazing. Amazing. So sad and realistic and honest... so heartbreakingly honest. I loved it, but it was so so sad... can't wait to see it this friday.
