Buenas tardes, revisando esta discusión (http://www.shelfari.com/groups/10413/discussions/133307/Nos-Introducimos-) veo que en algún momento tú has participado del grupo casi como si fueras un Admin (dando la bienvenida y motivando a los nuevos miembros a participar, etc…). También veo que nuestros gustos por las lecturas son diferentes y por eso me gustaría preguntarte si te animas a participar una vez más como administradora del grupo (junto conmigo, seríamos dos admins para este grupo). Creo que sería bueno tener admins con diferentes gustos de lectura y con diferentes perspectivas, para así enriquecer y diversificar las discusiones. ¿Qué te parece la idea?

En el caso de que aceptes la idea, aunque sea a modo de prueba, no te preocupes que no viene con más responsabilidades que le tiempo que tú le quieras dedicar. Tan sólo avísame qué piensas, ¿ok?

Hola María Elena, mi nombre es Emilio y acabo de encontrar tu nombre en el grupo “Books in Spanish”. Estoy pensando en intentar darle un poco de vida al grupo y he decidido comenzar una discusión acerca de las lecturas del mes (como veo que otros grupos suelen hacer). ¿Te sumas con un comentario? ¿Qué estás leyendo este mes? ¿Qué has leído últimamente? Thank you so much for leaving a review. And I also value your detaiuled feedback. It is very kind of you to take the time to do it. Im glad you enjoyed the Dead Loop part 1. I guess it is strange, although I hope original and different as well as strange!

I chose first person as I enjoyed the first person approach in the Hunger Games. I also wanted the reader to know veyr liittle about Ewan and his life and to have to learn about it as he journeys through the Dead Loop. The intention was to make the reader experience the Dead Loop and confusion and disorientation as much as Ewan. So im glad it works!.

I can confirm the whole book trilogy was carefully worked out from beginning to end before I ever put pen to paper, so the story does develop in part 2 and it does go somewhere. Im told the conclusion in part 3 expalins everything well and is a very satisfying end.

Im relying on my initial handful of readers to reccomend the booik to their friends and family who they think might like it! (if they think its good enough to reccomend!)

I see how much you enjoyed 'Before I go to Sleep' by S.J Watson. It's on my 'to read list!'
Your review is interesting in how you onserve that S.J.W made you take your own journey and put yourself in the shoes of the main character. The fact you appreciated how effectively the writer did that and how much you enjoyed the myserty and the journey is the reason for my message.

I’m searching for someone like you who appreciates the more original and interesting fiction that might be interested in trying out my novel trilogy "The DEAD LOOP". It is easy to read, emotive and a unique psychological thriller mystery about a man that dies every single day but has no idea why.

I’ve just persuaded one random Shelfari reader to try it and they kindly wrote on Amazon US: ‘one of the most unique and original story plots that I have read in quite a long time. The description of the settings of the various lives/deaths of the main character are so well described and well written that I can vividly see them in my mind as I read along.’

Strange and brilliant... Great description Lizbeth! I'm reading number two now, about half way through :-)

As for here, we just got hit by the tail-end of hurricane Irene (you've probably heard or her) and, happily, there hasn't been too much damage around our parts. Not everyone was that lucky. It's been an interesting summer, weather-wise. It seems like it's an all or nothing kind of weather pattern: extra dry (Texas, or worse, East Africa) or extra wet (tsunamis, Mississippi flood, hurricanes)...... Anyway, stay safe.

Are you reading anything worth recommending lately?

Ese "algún día buscare el tiempo" se convierte en un "nunca" antes de que te des cuenta. Una de las razones por las que renuncié a mi trabajo anterior fue porque no me dejaba tiempo (ni fortaleza mental) para escribir.

Claro, si tu trabajo te encanta y es algo que quieres hacer toda la vida, pues no hay problema. No todo el mundo es igual. Algunos disfrutan más leyendo que escribiendo, igual que muchos prefieren ver películas a ponerse a hacerlas. ¡Pero a mi francamente me interesa ser parte del juego!

Me ha gustado conocer cosas tuyas (de dónde eres, en qué país vives, lo del club del libro...).

En cuanto a mi teclado portugués, el único pequeño inconveniente es abrir interrogaciones y exclamaciones. Tengo mis trucos si debo enviar a Madrid un artículo académico, pero pierdo un poquito de tiempo. En cuanto a la eñe, no tengo tecla, pero basta escribir el acento nasal portugués ~ y a continuación pulsar la ene.

En otro momento te enviaré alguna palabrita por la opción "send a private message", que llegará a tu e-mail. Cuando me la contestes, obtendré tu e-mail y podré enviarte el PDF de Pérez-Reverte. Por cierto, me parece que Reverte es uno de esos españoles que llegan a conocer México y se enamoran o guardan de él un grato recuerdo para siempre :) (otros ejemplos: el cantautor Joaquín Sabina, el periodista especializado en cuestiones de la lengua española Álex Grijelmo...).

Te iré comentando poco a poco, que me acaban de nombrar bibliotecario de Shelfari y conviene que empiece a enterarme de mis nuevas funciones.

Arturo Pérez-Reverte me parece muy interesante, aunque apenas me he asomado a él. Tengo «Territorio comanche» en PDF (si te interesa), que es una lectura rápida, y un libro que reúne cierta participación periodística suya entre 1998 y 2001: «Con ánimo de ofender». Fue lo primero que leí de Reverte. Me gustó su humanidad apasionada y llena de palabrotas cuando está indignado. Las palabrotas también pertenecen al patrimonio de la lengua española... La Real Academia Española me parecía una institución muy respetable pero excesivamente conservadora, así que fue un buen fichaje cuando, en 2003, entró a ocupar uno de sus sillones.

Otro día te comento mi modesto conocimiento de la obra de Saramago.
