Hi! I’m from the Canada group, just popping by to let you know that we are trying to drum up interest in doing a group read. We have a thread started for anyone who is interested to let us know they are interested. Once we know there will be a few people, we’ll then decide on a book (Canadian author, of course!). Hi Matylda,Homage to Catalonia is a very worthwhile read. Orwell is one of my favorite authors, and I think Homage is his third most important work. It really is an underrated book. Since you've already read Orwell's top 2, I'd definitely recommend it. I haven't read Berlin Diary, but after looking it up I think I should add it to my reading list. Looks very interesting.ps. nothing on my shelf is as impressive as Gibbon's Decline and Fall 1-3. wow. how was it? are you planning on reading 4-6?Take care!

okay, I'll stop hassling you about the chess for the moment... another Canadian has started a game with me so that'll have to keep me going... and you can never ignore Nietzsche! Look at that moustache!!
But then where would that leave Nietzsche? He's all about the 'not having a system'... Haven't read Architecture of Happiness but Consolations of Philosophy is one of my bedside books at the moment and it's pretty enjoyable. And it's your move at chess!!!
hey cous'... how's it going? Reading any good books at the moment? How was Cormac McCarthy? I haven't read any yet but hear good things... I'm taking ages over Typee by Herman Melville but am quite enjoying it...

Hehe. I'll add more books as soon as I have a chance. I'm in a book club these days (I know - soooooooo cool) so I'll add the ones we read that I think are good. Hope things are well with you Maty.
