i am no good at thinking about actors for parts tho my niece & i have discussed a few ideas for jamie but now i cant remember. i think one of the things that gabaldon said was she wanted them cast right - in the book claire is older right & she wants that stuck to . it would be a real challenge. jamie has to be large. do you have any ideas? it woul be neat to see it done
no i haven't seen midwives or the pilots wife & my library has neither, which is the main way i borrow movies. when i saw sophie's choice i hadn't read the book but i thought it was a powerful movie at the time.haven't read the firm not terribly into grisham.but i have seen diana gabaldon in person & she has talked about the outlanders & the possibility of it entering movieland. it has been optioned several times but she talked about how authors can lose so much controlover how it turns out & there are a couple of things she feels strongly about like casting jamie & claire for example to reflect how she has written them. i would love to see it turned into a movie but it would be a surprise if it turned out well!
hii am not on here everyday here though i try to check a couple of times a week & always go on when i finish reading a book so i can add it to my shelf!i think "midwives" is the only bohjalian book i have read way back in '98 & i remember enjoying it; i just googled & found out that was made into a movie with sissy spacek, haven't seen it. perhaps sequel isn't the right word but the character thomas from the weight of water is in the last time they met - was it a prequel, i think so? i have not seen the film but i love to see movies made from books but also hate when they change stuff, particularly when there does not see to be a valid reason!i haven't read resistance; i obviously need to catch up on shreve's works - so many books & so little time!
hithe weight of water was the first one i read & it i believe was the first book that our very informal book club did & i loved it. it was also a great book for discussion. i have also read the pilot's wife and the last time they met - for some reason i thought there was 3 interrelated but from her website it appears just two. have you ever seen either of the films made from her books - i have not.elspbeth
hii see i have fallen behind on anita shreve - read a few books of hers years ago & loved them - see a few interesting titles on your shelf by her! now tell me do you just add books that you have read since you joined shelfari or do you periodically just update with stuff that you have read over the years?elspbeth

Hello.....on my home page there was a partial statement from you regarding "Kite Runner". How do I view your entire message?

The Kite Runner is a sad and wonderful book. I just read A Thousand Splendid Suns and was just as enthralled by this story.
