I'm a librarian and a bibliophile, which I guess go together. I get most of my reading recommendations from my mother, but she's always got very good suggestions. My favorite genre is historical fiction, because I love to feel what it was like to live under those circumstances.

It's been a while since I've found a thought-provoking book on libraries. This certainly wasn't it. I think the author is whiney in her way of complaining about all of the things that are wrong with libraries, without giving anything really inspiring solutions. For example, she complains that librarians are incompetant at reference and don't want to sit out at the reference desk, while she doesn't address the point that so few students ask for help out there. The idea of permanently moving ones office to a public space is intriguing, but that is all I have retained from this book.

Just as good as the first, but now I'm dying for book 3!

This book was just as good as the first four, but not my favorite of the series just because it was all about the last battle. I do like the complexities of the characters and the final solution.

This is a lovely book that describes the good and the bad of the German occupation of the Channel Islands.

One of the sweetest books I've ever read. I hope to have a daughter one day and read this to her.

I've heard of this book from several places and decided it was time to read (or listen to) it. It was fabulous. I sometimes stopped to think, "Hey, I should be bored by all this battle room stuff," but I never was. I really liked the main character, and all of the details were tied together well at the end. I'm glad I listened to this one, and that I listened to the author's discussion at the end, explaining that his background was in writing plays, so he writes his stories to be read aloud.

Now I can't decide if I want to read the other books in the series. I like how this one was tied together so well that I'm afraid more would ruin the experience.

Sookie's life gets a whole lot more serious in this book, so it's a bit different than past ones.

Don't judge the book by the mediocre movie! It's really adorable, one I hope to read to kids someday.
