I'm a librarian and a bibliophile, which I guess go together. I get most of my reading recommendations from my mother, but she's always got very good suggestions. My favorite genre is historical fiction, because I love to feel what it was like to live under those circumstances.

This was okay. It's a Christian mystery, which is okay, but sadly my experience is Christian writing usually isn't that intelligent. I kept being bothered by things that weren't very realistic from the access the public library has to police databases, to the hope Blair has for getting another librarian job in Colorado with no college degree at all (I'm a librarian), to the injuries the Sadie gets and how little they cost to fix, an otherwise compassionate police officer dropping her off at the doctor then not doing anything else for her until others take her in... Compared to the really good mysteries I've been listening to, this one was kind of flat. I enjoyed it, but found many little irritating things in it.

A well done thriller and mystery. I listened to this rather than read it. One night. I got to a particularly scary part at bed time, so I ended up listening to another hour when I knew the characters were safe.

Very well-done mystery. I enjoyed learning about Ashville and Biltmore in the process!

Very powerful book. It makes me want to appologize to everyone I was ever mean to, or even just rude to because I was shy.

Don't read this one if you don't want to get sucked in. Wonderfully crafted story, complicated characters, and very emotional (mostly anger at how bad the bad guys are!)

I really enjoyed the suspense of this book. You didn't know until the very end if the strange and scary events were natural or supernatural. I'm not satisfied how things were tied up in the epilogue, but up until the last few pages, I thought this was a great read.

I couldn't put this book down once I got past page 50. I got very emotionally involved in the story, so much so, my husband came home while I was reading and thought something real had really gone wrong.

It's been a while since I've found a thought-provoking book on libraries. This certainly wasn't it. I think the author is whiney in her way of complaining about all of the things that are wrong with libraries, without giving anything really inspiring solutions. For example, she complains that librarians are incompetant at reference and don't want to sit out at the reference desk, while she doesn't address the point that so few students ask for help out there. The idea of permanently moving ones office to a public space is intriguing, but that is all I have retained from this book.

Just as good as the first, but now I'm dying for book 3!

This book was just as good as the first four, but not my favorite of the series just because it was all about the last battle. I do like the complexities of the characters and the final solution.
