Let me paint a picture with words:
You are in a forest with the sounds of a flowing brook nearby. A light breeze brings in the scent of pine trees and honeysuckles. You look up and hear a woodpecker on a nearby tree echoing through the woods and it brings a smile. Never having been on this forest path you follow a peculiar trail of roses that starts on the trail and leads off into the deeper woods. It’s a strange place for cultivated roses. One rose after another; they beckon you to follow them. The scent is light and wonderful, sparkles of purple float up from the flowers into the wind and drift off.
“What on Earth?” In a hole in an oak tree you find three small bottles of honey. A single drop of honey on your tongue is so sweet and delicious as if you haven’t eaten in a week.
“That is my honey.” The voice is a big one though not threatening.
You come face to face with the big red dragon. “Oh my.”
You have a nice shelf.
I hope you are reading lots of interesting books.
Dracula: Hearts of Stone is about a suicidal Dracula (he’s a good guy in this trilogy) that must snap out of his funk if he is to help save the world from evil vampires. He's created vampire sheriffs to battle the bad guys but they're being overrun. Piers Anthony (the author) is trying desperately to get him to jump into the battle. It's a tale of vampires, wizards and romance.
Knights of the Dragon is about a dragon that hires knights to help save Leeander and a young boy that the dragon cares about.
Unrealistic or not my writing gives me hope. But with something like 50 000 books published every month it is a little discouraging. I didn’t think there were that many writers.
Please join me at Shelfari.com, group: Enjoy Quality Reads
We can do whatever we want there: discuss new books, critique anything, promote ourselves—provided we wrote at least one three stars book…
This group is for all readers with some understanding of literature and for all good authors. All book genres are welcome, thriller genre books are preferred. All good writers, writers with books rated at least three stars by a qualified reviewer, are welcome to promote and approach readers with their creations.
Good to hear from you, Adair
I belong to a mystery lovers book group.
We take turns choosing the book for the month.
My turn is for the Jan choice.
So, I'm always looking for ideas when it's nearing my time.
It's not necessarily my way but many in the group love solving the crime.
If something comes to mind as a good crime....please feel free to suggest.
Have a great day!
I see you're a Harry Potter fan! :o) If by any chance you're looking
for something similar to read, give my novel a try:
Dream Magic: Awakenings - a free fantasy novel

I would appreciate your feedback. ^_^
My reading goal this year is to read as many John Steinbeck works that I can. Shame on me but prior to this year I had not read a single one! Yikes! I can't believe I've passed up on this incredible writing. Earlier this month while visiting friend up in northern California we stopped in Salinas to visit the Steinbeck Museum. We spent several hours looking at all the displays and I, of course, walked off with several Steinbeck books. I think I spent my all of my allowance there!
Dracula: Hearts of Fire is now available.
The adventure continues as 12-year-old Jenny goes out in search of herself and to learn the ways of the wizards. Dracula is happier than he has been in centuries but he senses that big trouble is on the horizon.
Lauren has news for Michael but will the vampire be able to handle it. The Siamese cat Moon Diamond continues to struggle with his condition, with yet another twist rearing its ugly head. Piers Anthony is reluctant to battle evil vampires, but Dracula sends him out nonetheless.
A 90-year-old Annie ask Dracula to transform her.
Dracula: Hearts of Fire has more romance, fighting and vampires. There’s plenty of humor to tickle your funny bone.
Readers are the smartest people, with imaginations that soar and hearts that sing. Without them writers may as well be birds without wings.
Its a good book May 30, 2012
“Liked this book. Quite the money's worth; one of those rare occasions when you feel you did not go wrong with an indie.”

"Empire Falls" was the first book book that I have read by Richard Russo. It's a bit dark and not a "happy" book. The character were wonderful - Russo's writing made me feel I was part of this small, dying community. I'd be interested what your thoughts were when you have finished.
