Hi! I know, I've been wrapped up in my own life too, sometimes its hard to stop a second and write. Getting your own paycheck is great. I got my first regular job last year, unfortunately its only for the school year. I like getting to know people through my job and the comfortable atmosphere of it.
That's impressive that your friend A had such a positive response to your letter. But crushing on straight guys is hard to get past. You seem to have handled it really well.
Yeah, I'm still watching Death Note periodically. The main character is so good looking, but creepily manipulative with people.
As for drawing characters, I've noticed that adding wings just adds a whole different element to the figure, it adds something ethierial and powerful while framing the figure and drawing your attention to it. I definitely agree with you about angels. As for my drawing, I had finished everything but the face, nailed it, and then messed it up and had to set it asside temporarily because it was really fustrating me since the face is the focal point. I've been working with colored pencils, but I'm going to try to have my mom teach me how to work with oil pastels since you can do a lot more with them. It takes time and practice of course. It helps that my mom is also an artist, even though she doesn't do it for a living. That way I talk about ideas with her.
As for songs with cryptic lyrics, there's one called The High Road by Broken Bells that I love but still haven't figured out, maybe you can tell me what you think it means. I have an idea, but I'm not sure.
Thai lessons are still not progressing because I haven't found a good program to use. Its a tonal language, so I need to hear it and practice saying it while getting feedback on how to improve. I'm hopping to find a relatively inexpensive computer program to use. So its a work in progress.
Have you heard of the new movie comming out called Charle Saint Cloud? It sounds really good, you should look up the trailer. The trailer also had one of my favorite songs in it, Run by Snow Patrol. Its based on a book, so of course I'm going to try to find it and read it too.
How have you been and what have you been up to?

LOVE STORY~~ ♥♥ A girl asked a guy if he thought she was pretty and he said no. She asked him if he would want to be with her forever and he said no. She then asked him if she were to leave would he cry, and once again he replied with a no. She had heard enough. As she walked away, tears streaming down her face the boy ...grabbed her arm and said You are not pretty you're beautiful. I don't want to be with you forever. I NEED to be with you forever. And I wouldn't cry if you walked away...I'd die... ♥♥ ~~THE END~~ ♥♥.......Isn't that sweet? Tonight at midnight your true love will realize they like you. Something good will happen to you at 1:00-4:00pm tomorrow, it could be anywhere on IM or email, outside of school, anywhere! Get ready for the biggest shock of your life. If you break this chain letter you will be cursed with 10 relationship problems forthe next ten years. If you post this to 15 pages in 15 minutes, you're safe

Hi, how are you doing? I haven't heard from you in a while, just wondered what you've been up to.
I read some of the poetry and writting. My favorite was the letter to A. It reminded me of a letter I wrote myself but never gave. I was curious about how he reacted though.
I've been watching an anime called Death Note recently and its really interesting. I love how the drawings bring out such realness in a very beautiful way. Its hard to describe, but when I started watching the same show as a movie with actors it just didn't have the same charm as the anime. Plus the anime inspired me to create a drawing of the main character with wings. It came out really well too. I'm thinking of making a copy of it and giving it to my friend who introduced me to the series because I know she'd love it.
I came across a song yesterday that had really good lyrics that sounded like your poetry style actually. Its called What of Me by Trespassers William. My favorite line is "It doesn't matter if we lie, your sentences never defined you"
How are you liking The Little Prince? Its a beautiful story. I love the scene with the fox and how he says you are responsible forever for what you've tamed, like his rose. It made me think of my garden and how we've "tamed" the world and now we are responsible for it.
I Hope you have a good day.

I hope your first day at work went well!
Wow, election day? What are the candadates like and is the voting fair or is there corruption? I know in Mexico its always a little iffy about how fair the voting was. I think it comes from having such a wide disparity between the upper and lower class in terms of political power, wealth, and education. Thanks for the complement! I also love comming across people that I can talk to about different things. I find that different friends of mine "specialize," if you will, in different traits that I admire. Some are great for sympathizing, others for having fun, others for quiet company, and a precious few for intellectual conversations. I've been lucky though that I've managed to have at least one "pen pall" to write to for the last three years. The first two years was to a Chinese girl who has since moved to the U.S., then to a girl from Singapore for the past year, who stopped talking to me a month ago when I came out to her (which was sad since we got along really well) and now I found you to write to ^__^
The My Sassy girl was the Korean version. Even though there was an English dubb I watched it with subtitles because I've gotten used to them and that way you hear the real actors and their expressions.
So what did you do for Mother's Day? Thats so strange that college starts so early in the Philippines. Do many people go? I haven't gotten around to reading your work, but I will :D
I haven't really written anything other than poetry as of yet. Hmmm you might end up motivating me to try writting something. We'll see.
Yeah with Facebook everyone seems to have one, my mom too. Hahaha, that's funny that your dad's into farmville. I know some of my friends got really into it.
Tomorrow is my first day of my summer class, so I hope there are some nice people in it. I have a tendency to meet new friends in classes which is what makes them enjoyable.
Let me know how work went.

Right now my favorite piece is Beethoven's Sonata Appassionata 3rd Movement, I really wish I could play it, even if only the first movement. I must have listened to it a hundred times this past month. I like Rachmaninoff as well but also Chopin. The Romantics are my favorites. As for living on my own I didn't really mean promiscuous, haha, I haven't so much as kissed anyone outside of my own family. Its just the little things like waking up and going to bed when you like, being spontaneous about your day and how you spend it, and not having parents nagging about being "productive" in how you use your time. I wouldn't mind so much if they treated me more as an equal, but its hard when you're under their control. I think once I manage my own money then I'll truely be independent. I've never heard of Cincinnati Bell Telecommunications. I guess American buisnesses really are everywhere for better or for worse. Let me know how your job is :D. I work on campus but not now since summer started. I watched My Sassy Girl and it was very funny. It made me laugh out loud alot! The predicaments he ends up in are hillarious. I'd love to read some of your writting by the way. My sister used to write stories but not lately. Do you have siblings? Mother's Day is this weekend, is it celebrated there the same way and are you planning anything? I don't have a Facebook and I've been told be everyone that I should get one, but I had been waiting for a good time to make one. Maybe its time that I did now that I'm on break. I'll let you know how that goes. :D

Hello! I'm done with my finals and all that now. I already miss school haha! I'm taking one summer class though starting soon. I watched Frozen Flower, and you were right, the visuals were spectacular. I found the plot interesting and the ending necessary, but not very original. Very nice overall I thought. What are you doing now? Do you live with your family? I guess that maybe its a cultural thing, but I would much rather move near my campus than have to make such a long commute. Plus I enjoyed the freedom, now that I'm back home I miss it. You should definitely write some. I keep looking for the perfect book and sometimes I think, wait, why don't I write it, since I already know what sort of elements I would want in it. But for now I'm still working out how it will work in my head. Now that I have the time I'm going to catch up on some reading. I picked up Allende's House of the Spirits yesterday and its really good so far, it reminds me alot of A Hundred Years of Solitude. I'm doing some gardening as well, but its been really hot and humid lately so only mornings and afternoons are good for it. As for piano, my favorite song to play is Moonlight Sonata, its the only one I kept up with this year so that I wouldn't forget it. I've got to start learn Thai too this summer! I'm really excited about the prospects of going to Thailand. Nothings official yet, but I'm determined to make it happen. If I can get my scholarships to cover the costs that would be amazing. Well my writting is probably very random, anyway, let me know what you're up to. I appreciate your recommendations.

Sorry I haven't replyed in so long, I've been supper busy. Next week are final exams and then I'm done with the semester. I watched No Regrets last week though, and I liked it, but not as much as The Love of Siam. I guess it just wasn't as idealic. I did think the acting was much better though, especially when the main character's friend dies. I watched the trailer for First Squad and it looks interesting, maybe I'll watch it later. As for music, I like and am familar with most of the main stream stuff but I really enjoy trying to find little known but talented artists. My tastes change from day to day, but I like music that blends indie, rock, and classical. Piano and guitar in the background just makes everything sound better, and the voice has to be good. But if I'm in the mood for something upbeat I'll listen to pop music. Some of the artists I like right now are The Perishers, Lenka, OneRepublic, Sufjan Stevens, Angel Taylor, and He Is We. I recognize your artists as well. I've never heard of Tori Amos, I'll look her up. What's summer looking like? I'm taking a class and I think I'll continue with piano lessons, since I stopped since going to college. I'm also looking into studying abroad in Thailand for my next spring semester. I want to try to learn some Thai first, it sounds like a difficult language, so I know I'm going to need to actually live in the country to learn it well. How is your school year going and when do you graduate? Do you live in Manila or somewhere else?

    Hi Marvin E
I have just started a new group for gay and lesbian readers, suggesting books which are perfect for a holiday read. You have read some of the books on our shelf and I would love your feedback and for you to add more titles.
    Thanks

Yes, I'd love to hear about any others. I looked up the rest on your list, and the only one that looked interesting was No Regrets, but I'll have to wait untill I have more time. Thats amazing that you've written 60 pages! I bet you know a lot on the subject by now. I'm taking Physics, Psychology, Computer Science, Social Influence, Art Appreciation, and Forest Ecology. Unfortunately I'm not very good at science and math; english, history, and art are my strong points, but science is what I want to go into. At least I'm good with understanding concepts. My crazy schedule combined with a busy social life are the reasons I haven't had time for reading recently. Movies are easier to fit into free time for now. I'm enjoying school and my courses, mostly because I see my classes as a place to learn about the nature of people and myself and what I want for my present and future. Its also a great way to meet people. Yeah, my focus is on people, for me that's what makes life so worthwhile. Oh and now I want to become a Psychiatrist :D.
So what about you? What courses are you taking. Also, what sort of music do you like to listen to?

I just finished watching The Love of Siam, and all I can say is wow! I really enjoyed it. The theme song is so cool too, and alot of things culturally brought back memories from my trip to Singapore. Its also interesting how people in asia seem to have a slightly unique way of expressing emotions. Its a very endearing quality in my opinion. The main characters are also very cute. It also made me wish I spoke Thai. I really like Mew's commentary on loneliness and wish they could have been together at the end, but it was perfect. Thanks so much for the recommendations, I'll make sure to look up the others and let me know if you think of any other good ones. Oh and don't worry, rushing things is the complete opposite of how I am, I'm usually too patient about my approach to things since I prefer to wait things out. I haven't read F. Sionil Jose yet, but I plan to. That would be cool if spanish was spoken in the Philippines too, since it was at one time spoken there. Lots of school work here too, so I better get going.

Wow! I really enjoyed reading that. Magical realism is definetly awesome. It seems really rare in English work, but much more common in foreign, especially Latin-American works. Your tastes in books and fillms are really good. I recognize several names, but it seems you have gone much further in breth than I have been able to. I'd love to try to track down some of these titles. I love Paulo Coehlo, and I got introduced to Allende because my mom loves reading her books. I grew up speaking both english and spanish thanks to my mom by the way, but I'm intimidated by the idea of trying to read really good literature in spanish. According to my mom, none of Garcia-Marquez's other works compare with A Hundred Years of Solitude, they merely echo similar themes. A Hundred Years of Solitude is kind of his crowning achievement. I enjoyed it so much I can keep re-reading it to find more to it than I saw in it the last time.
    That's crazy that you're graduating at 18, how is that? I'm 18 and I'm only a freshman.
Pirated CDs are alright, I just don't know where to find them here, I don't think there is as big of a market for them as in other countries. You can find stuff on the internet though.
I like artistically and visually impressive films with a story line that is unexpected and touches on larger themes. Surealism is also enjoyable, Across the Universe definetly has that quality. I haven't come across many gay-themed films though. The only one that stands out is one that I came across just recently that is still in theaters called A Single Man, and it was the most beautiful moving film I've seen in a long time. It was so good I saw it twice and really appreciated seeing it on the big screen with all its crystal clarity. Sci fi movies are too predictable and just can't compare to their equivalent in books.
That's so cool about you and your boyfriend by the way, I'm still working on that, I'm so picky though. For me I have to feel like the person is a potential soulmate before I'll even consider them. I've come across two people though, but nothing yet. At least I have a really big pool to choose from and am in an environment where it is tolerated if not encouraged.
You should try to write something by the way. What are you considering in the area of jobs?

I just realized I forgot to reply to your question about the Hayao Miyazaki films, so yes, I've seen all the major ones. My favorite is Princess Mononoke followed by Howl's Moving Castle. I really like the music too, particularly the Castle in the Sky theme song. What's your favorite non-english movie?
