Sorry I keep missing these! I never see shelfari's emails :(.

Haha I have the ARC because my school library gets a lot of them, since they know we like them. I have it in my room right now! So psyched!

I will definitely, definitely watch it. Just remind me soon if I forget- I have a ton of work this week (finishing applications and stuff) but I of course want to see it :D.

SO SORRY - just saw this post!

YES! That's it! Eek, I love her books so so so much- they're the best. She used to write just Realistic Fiction and I was psyched when she started fantasy as well.

SAME! I have ARCS of Madness Underneath and Just One Day, and I'm planning to read them on Christmas morning or something haha. I can't wait! Which ones are you excited for?

YES! I know what you mean about the characters! I am so in love in love in love with Gansey, it's ridiculous. And in most books I don't go for the main guy, so it's a testament to MS that she can write one I can fall for. I'm interested to see more from Ronan and Noah. For whatever reason I don't love Adam as much as I want to :( and I really really want to!

Yeah, the ending is... yeah. I don't know quite what I think happened for sure - I am bad with plot. But I want SO BADLY to read what happens next! And Persephone! Yeah! What's up with her? I really liked her, she was awesome.

I like Blue a lot too, most of the time... like she's a very likable character I think.

And Ganseyyyy! Sorry i keep going back to him. I just really really really love him. I have no idea what it is. Something about his Gansey-ness. And there I was, totally expecting to fall for Adam instead. Whelp.

I have to say, it's nice how much research must go into her books. Like how she uses all of the mythology. I kind of want to go and read some Welsh myths now.

EEP! I'm so excited! Next week or maybe the week after I am going to read the last installment of one of my favorite series... freaking out!!!

Yes, exactly! I loved that about it from, I guess, a critical standpoint, because it was just so much more honest than most books. But on the other hand, it did make it harder to like everyone. Not harder to love or care about them, I guess, but to like them as people. That's really interesting she said that, because at the event I think I remember her saying, or someone saying, they were both heroes. I think that's how I see them? I don't know, because Sukhvinder was definitely the character I most connected to, and so I really wanted good things to happen for her and I was so happy when they sort of did... but I don't know that I thought of her or Krystal as heroes when I was reading. But looking back it makes sense.

Yuppp, haha, it's a pretty crazy movie. My stance on it is sort of weird, because I did definitely prefer the movie by a LOT (which is not true for most people who are fans, I don't think). The book is actually a lot clearer than the movie, because it just goes story by story instead of jumbling them all up into tiny pieces (which worked, visually, but was also much more intense and complicated). I'm not sure what I suggest, because my friend who hadn't read any of the book was very, very confused, particularly because of all the repeating actors, and basically didn't like it much until I leaned over and explained what was going on. What I did was kind of perfect, because I understood the basics of each story enough to enjoy the movie's "expansion" of them. So maybe read the wikipedia summary of it or something? If you don't mind spoilers?

Oh! I heard great things about Wreck it Ralph too! Definitely want to see it! The Nerdfighters of NY group was planning a trip but it got cancelled :/.

Haha okay sounds good :D. I do read her blog and in fact I saw that post and had it open for a few days, planning to do it, but I just got overwhelmed with little tasks and decided not to :/. They are super super pretty though. Eep I really loved Raven Boys. I just got so attached to everyone so quickly.

Thanks so much! I'm sending in apps next week - so nervous! But at least soon I'll be done with them forever! :)

OH! I think I've heard of that book! Someone I know must have read it, or maybe it's on my list somehow? I don't know if I've ever read a real crime novel either, but there's this store in NY that sells only crime novels, which is kind of cool since it's so specific haha. Ooh I'm jealous about the used bookstore - those are absolutely the greatest things.

I know exactly what you mean. I think a lot of people had trouble getting into it, at least until two thirds of the way through or something. Even though I really loved it I know I'm in the minority and I can totally understand why. It was an... upsetting book, not just because of the end but because of how much, for lack of a better word, griminess there was everywhere, you know? I did really like it though, but it was DEFINITELY no HP. I'm exactly the same way with evaluating my thoughts on a book - if I raced through it, I always tend to want to say I liked it more, when I guess that isn't always true. Eeep I'm so excited for what she does next! Pretty sure it's going to be a children's book?

I have been reading the same things for aaages, because college apps have kept me incredibly busy and also I'm sort of in a book rut. But! I love the Rookie Mag Yearbook haha and I'm also reading Cloud Atlas, which I started before I saw the movie and then am now finishing after I saw it, which gives it... an interesting perspective. Have you seen any trailers for it perchance? It's kind of weird and magical, but I really loved it. Eee! I'm sort of tempted to just mail you my copy of Raven Boys. Would that be good?

YES, he's absolutely beautiful. I love Logan Lerman too haha. Basically that whole cast. I have to say, I LOVED the movie. It was weird too, because considering how much I loved the book, I had really high expectations for the movie, but I thought it was such a great adaptation. I'm so glad you loved it too! I thought they did such a good job staying true to it. Ezra's definitely gorgeous though. I lovedddd him as Patrick.

So have you read anything you really like lately?
