Thanks. That's a picture of Face, one of my four cats. (Her name is Face because we thought she was a boy and named her Face Man after the guy on The A-Team. Oops.) Bit of a shadow on your photo. Is that a kitty you're holding?
Gonna check out your ADD group as soon as I get a chance this evening. Always on the lookout for new groups. Hope on over to the Friendship for Universal Peace group when you get a chance. (http://www.shelfari.com/groups/12965/about) Love to have you.
I see share an interest in theology, especially Catholic. From reading some of your ratings, I have decided to put one book on my wish list.
:) I joined. There was only one other Shelfari group on the subject for women with ADD.
If you do start that group, I'd definitely be interested in joining.
BTW: if the meds the docs give make him hyper instead of focused, it's not ADD. There's a chemical "imbalance" involved. I've known a few kids that were misdiagnosed.
Thank you for your invitation. (Yes, I'm accepting it.)
I love your comment about ADD. It runs in our family too. ADD is not considered a learning disability for a reason. It simply is a different way of looking at and operating in the world. Unfortunately, that mentality does not always work well in the primary school system. Many ADD people thrive in college, though where thinking outside the box is more encouraged.
The type of ADD one has can also influence how well you survive in the world. Hyperfocus can be great or it can be harmful.
Thanks for the friend request! My son has ADD too, and it is definitely NOT something to be ashamed of. It's too bad the schools aren't better equipped to teach these hands-on learners. I know my boy is going to be a success at no matter what he does...I just need him to graduate!
Looking forward to getting to know you.
Amy
Nice pic -- Petunia is a cutie! I totally get what you said about your wife and P -- My husband has no clue about animals (although he is learning [finally!])and so treats her like a dog (a real dog, not badly) -- and tries to play fetch with her, and to get her to run with him. She thinks he is stalking her so tends to either make herself scarce or give him a really disdainful look and walk away; and if that fails she yeowls really loudly (and she is a talker) or hides behind me. He then looks at me, grins, and says, with a totally straight face "She loves me" -- the sad part is he means it [grin] -- He talks about her to everyone!! (he even put a vote in for her last time for AG -- I kid you not!)

Hi Novangelus,
How are you doing? Have a nice weekend.
Oswald
Thank you for the invitation...:)
Hi Novangelus,
Thanks a lot. You've made my day. I hope you read my novel "Beyond the Newsroom" soon and give me your feedback.
Cheers,
Oswald
Hi, you have a wonderful selection of sci-fi books. I don't know why i never got to finish one once I started, but I really loved it when they make a movie out of it. I specially love your selection on Calvin & Hobbes...must be because of your kids. Do you read to them? They say kids will develop a love for books when their parents find time to read to them :-) Hope all is well with you and your family...God bless!!
Reese
