    Hi Marcel,

    sorry for only coming back to you now, I was away.

    I really like this book, it's a charming little loser novel that captures the Geist and Tristesse in Germany in the 70's. You will get to love the protagonist, Blum if I remember correctly.

    Am sure you will enjoy reading it.

    BTW, I read about this book, where a Dutch or Belgian bike rider describes his feelings during the Ascent of Alpe d'Huez, but I forgot the name. It's about 3-5 years old. Does it ring any bells?

    Hoi Marcel, hoe is het? Woon je nog steeds in Duitsland? Volgens mij heeft het daar ook best gesneeuwd. Hier in Nederland hebben we eindelijk een witte kerst. Wel mooi hoor, maar toch ook wel weer fijn om lekker warm met een goed boek en een kopje thee bij de kerstboom te zitten.
    Ik wens je een hele fijne kerst en alvast al het goede voor 2010!

    Hoi there,Marcel! I had been busy and I still am moderately so. :D Hence, the late reply. I'm sorry for responding late. It is also only during these days where my additions of books in Shelfari are in progress. :D You can probably try A SMALL DEATH IN LISBON by Robert Wilson. I love it. If it may help to let you know that it won the 1999 Crime Writers Association Gold Dagger Award as well as the as the German Crime Prize for an international novel, then maybe you ought to purchase it now as I type. :):D You may also try those by Robert Ludlum (one of my fave authors) since they also touch on WWII and the holocaust. Tites are THE HOLCROFT COVENANT and THE GEMINI CONTENDERS. Hmm, what else can I recommend?

    Ik wens je hele fijne feestdagen & een fantastisch 2009 met heel veel liefde, geluk, vriendschap & natuurlijk heel veel goede, nieuwe boeken om te lezen!
    Ligt er bij jou in Duitsland inmiddels al sneeuw. Hier in Nederland is het weer geen witte kerst, maar wel lekker koud. Ideaal voor een heerlijke kerstwandeling.

    The Chess Machine. And since you are Dutch too we'll call it "De Schaakmachine" from now. ;-)

    Het is alweer een tijdje geleden dat ik 'm gelezen heb, maar ik geloof dat ik het een prima boek vond.
    Spannend, goed neergezet in de 18e eeuw. Vol list, bedrog en moord, zoals het hoort.
