Mango Chutney

My interests lie in a vast and varied variety, which is mostly dependent upon the mood that I am in. I also like talking to people about the books that I have read...and wish to read. Books are one of my many passions in life.

Thanks so much for stopping by and browsing through my book lists...I'd love to hear from you =)

Sounds awesome. I'll have to check her out. :) I actually read The Yellow Wallpaper in college too -- a psychopathology class I think.
It's soooo cold in Michigan. I just came back from northern MI today where it snowed! T_T

My taste in books kind of go through phases. Right now I'm really into fantasy (maybe some science fiction) with some adventure and a touch of romance. I like books with plots that surprise me and settings that are rich in detail. :) Sounds specific but there's actually lots out there that fit the bill. I've never Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. What kinds of stuff does he/she(?) write? Right now I'm reading Jacqueline Carey and Kristin Cashore.
I'm not a big fan of nonfiction, but memoirs are very good. I studied a lot of psychology so I'm really intrigued by stuff like Girl, Interrupted; Waste; the Yellow Wallpaper, etc.

    Hi,

Wecome to the Movie Lovers Group. Hope to see you as an active participant in the group; it's always great to hear from new voices. Just FYI, if your interested....last month's group movie was "The Pawnbroker" and this month's group movie is "The Lives of Others". If you've seen any one of them (or both) please feel free to post your comments. We also have a recurring thread "Movies You've Watched During the Month". Please feel free to post the movies you've seen on the small and big screen and your ratings.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Hello
I am retired now. My health issues made it necessary. I have joined the Out of the Broom...and we are trying to get things moving again. Auntie is busy right now so I am trying to instigate motion. Discussion and debate and reading. There are new books on the group shelf. So please stop by.

There is nothing more fun than a good vampire story. Every once in a while no matter what you need to read something silly, or fun or just fluff. So good for you. I hope it was jolly fun. We actually have had a wonderful Indian Summer here in Cleveland. Flowers in my garden are still blooming. I am sleeping with my windows open and it is only going down to about 56 degrees. But alas, this will be ending and there will be slightly cooler temperatures, today it was 77. There will be rain. My sister planted spring bulbs for me this afternoon.
I love poetry too. It is fun to spend an evening reading one of my books on an evening when I am not in the mood to read anything else.

Hi I was into the hospital and then right back to work. Then to Charlotte to visit one
of my daughters and 2 of my grandchildren, identical twin grandsons. So I haven't been on for awhile but it
looks like you have been busy reading and adding books. I hope you are doing very well.

    Dear MC
I am so glad you and yours are fine. Life here is in transition with much more to come. It amazes me how uncomfortable that still is. I am a Taurus so that is somewhat understandable. I am working on it and making progress as it won't let up until I learn the lesson. LOL The weather here in Cleveland has been beautiful. My garden and container pots are fragrant and ease the eyes. The light is strong and creates shadows and the shadows play with the imagination. I like a summer evening because there is a slow rhythm to it. If you listen you will hear soft under tones and feel the hum of the energy of Mother Earth. Well, have a wonderful weekend.
