I love to read! I started a book club at the local library 5 years ago and I have a web page that is devoted to my reading group and passion. I belong to an on-line reading group and I have picked up some great books and authors from this fun bunch.

Thanks for the info on other vampire books-a student is actually the one who turned me onto Twilite. Sorry such a delay in response, but I have been out of town since mid-July. I am just finishing the last of the Twilite series-Breaking Dawn. I preferred the 1st and 3rd the most, but I think I'll check out your suggestion. I do not have HBO, but maybe I will get it after I read these books. Take care-Donna

Sounds good! Let me know how they are. I just saw a trailer for the movie Twilite that is supposed to be in theaters in December 2008. Looks good-if you want to see it, you will have to rent the movie Penelope.

HI! I used to belong to a great book club -- it was different in that we usually read pretty much what we wanted to, then reviewed those books for the other members. occasionally we picked just one bok. Or we'd pick an author, even a poet, and read anything by him/her. I liked the freestyle form -- hearing about other books from people whose opinions I respected. I read constantly; can't be without a book!

I am reading Lost Souls by Lisa Jackson. My husband bought it for me for my birthday in June and I have just started to read it, and I can't put it down. I was reluctant at first because it is about "The Influence of Vampirism in Modern Culture and Literature," but to my surprise, I am diggin it. Try it out.

I've read many of the authors you've read, inckluding Kellerman and Hoag and Woods. They're all good. I love Robrt Crais, though He has a new book out, on the best-seller list, haven't read it yet. Chuck Logan is terrific, too.

    Hi Magpie67,

I was browsing yoru shelf and found that yo and I have 97 books in common. I am always looking for new authors in the mystery genre'. I hope you don't mind if I refer to your shelf often when I'm searching for a new series to read.

It is very nice to meet you.

Glad you had a blast, D! I'm hoping to one day be able to afford to go one a convention like that. I didn't get to do as much 'damage' (LMAO!) as I wanted when I went book shopping last weekend with Crystal. We're planning a repeat for same weekend next year. I've already put $20 away for the occasion, LOL! Next year can't come fast enough!

    Hello there,
thanx for your nice and extensive reply,
but it made me more confused,
i do LOVE Agatha Cristy, and it peaked during my teenage years,
but am not in the mood for mysteries those days, i keep reading those things every now and then (i think its in my blood ;)),
any how the spider wick chronicles got my attention the most and am gonna look it up, hope I'll find it in my near by bookshop,

am also in the mood to read Limony Sniket a series of unfortunate events again, i just love those orphans!

what about you? what are you about to read?

the avocabookclub i searched for it but couldn't find it!

    thanks again
