I like to read, obviously, and was reccomended here by my best friend. I've actually been looking for a site like this for a long time. I love movies, books, reading, writing and photography. I am solidly into fiction and sci-fi. I've read everything from I-Robot to DC superhero books. If there's romance in there, with a solid plot, I'm cool.... more »

I love to read, mysteries with a little romance thrown in is always good. I love historical novels. Don't get to read long books anymore, not any time, but do read all the Reader's Digest Condensed books I can get my hands on; have read lots, and lots. Thanks for adding me as a friend!!

You asked about "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"--Perusing your current list of books, I hesitate to recommend it at this time. The novel is a thriller, but it is very dense with detailed information about the philosophy and intricacies of publishing, business, and post-World War II Europe. It also deals with some graphic violence and taboo sexual concepts. It will be a challenging read with a wonderful unlikely heroine in Lisabeth.

Dune is a take on society and religion set in a sci-fi universe. Its definitely one of the most original and gripping series I have come across. It explores various aspects of blind faith in religious doctrines and contrasts it with a rational point of view. Definitely give it a try.

Dune was a lot faster paced than I thought. I was expecting another LOTR when I first started this, but the story progressed quickly and had me wanting more as I went through. It actually is the best sci-fi I've read (coming from someone who doubted the book going in).

Yes you should read this according to what I see from your shelf. It really does live up to the hype!

Hi you asked about a book recommendation, the last secret, it is definitely worth reading but only if you are going to read the series as none of the endings are conclusive so its useless just picking up the one book.
    Hope this helps.
    Take care.

Based on the books in your favorites shelf, I'm not sure Moon Called is the book for you. It has 2 different love interests for the main character, Mercy. I gave it to my step-mom to read and she freaked out over the werewolf parts and couldn't finish it. Have you tried Fablehaven? It might go well with the books on your favorites shelf.

Then, go for Manifold Time, one of the best sci-fi, with a certain future prophecy in it.

Oh, whoops. Sorry, yeah, I meant first.
I forgot to say in the "review" that the books are almost like the 1st and 2nd Narnia movies. They're so different, that they're hard to compare. One doesn't really out rule the other. It's just a personal preference on which one is better.
    I hope that helped!

Dune will certainly be more advanced than Bionicle and Artemis Fowl. No harm in reading it now and you will probably enjoy it. But you'll probably enjoy it even more if you wait a few years. You'll appreciate the philosophical tilt a bit more.

Dune may be more than you're used to. I've read many of the other science fiction books on your list, and all when I was much younger...
Dune is much more philosophically driven, but I would definitely recommend it.
It is never a bad thing to read a more advanced novel.

Dune is interesting and philosophically deep but it can be a little dry. I would recommend it though.
