I'm a mortician and recent escapee of the fine, wooded state of Michigan. I don't know of too many people with my (questionable) taste in books, so I joined this site to meet fellow bibliophiles and find out what next to read. (And to stroke my ego by showing off my eclectic library of the damned.)
The presence of any title should not necessarily be read as an endorsement of said title's philosophical, political, or theological stance.
This should not be considered a definitive list of every book I have ever read in my life. I've included some of the better (and better-known) books from my pre-high school years, but I don't want to pad my "Read" list with a bunch of Young Adult titles that I can barely remember.
Graphic Novels: I have decided to include certain significant volumes of *ahem* "sequential fiction" on my shelf. As with YA titles, this is a merely a sampling of the geeky nonsense I've read.
Omnibus Editions: If I own a collection of novels, but have not read every novel in the collection, then the already read novels will be found on the "Read" shelf, while the collection itself will be on the "Plans To Read" shelf. Once I have finished the collection, the individual novels will be removed from the "Read" shelf and the collection will take their place.
For example, I own a collection of Mervyn Peake's "Gormenghast" novels, but have so far only read "Titus Groan." Currently, "Titus Groan" is on the "Read" shelf while the complete collection is on the "Plans To Read" shelf. Once I finish the collection, I will move it to the "Read" shelf and remove "Titus."
Yes, I am that anal about my bookshelves....
