I've been reading books for a long time. I started with the Sweet Valley books, the Fear Street series, the Baby-Sitters Club, and many others. Then I went on to read those romantic novels such as Judith McNaught, Julie Garwood, Brenda Joyce and Susan Elizabeth Philips. I have read these kinds of books for a long time, never tiring of them. But then I have come to realize that these were my "Dark Age" of reading, that I was reading the same types of books which painted a romantic fantasy--very far from the real world. I don't think I ever tried anything else--I was stuck. I was stuck because my life back then wasn't really going well.

But now, my love for books has been rekindled. I am ready to explore all kinds of books. I guess you can attribute this new "feeling" with my discovery of the new Fully Booked at Bonifacio High Street, more time to read because I'm out of Law School (for a while), and new friends who love to read.

Now, I read a book and enjoy one until the last page. I find fulfillment in seeing that last page and summarizing to myself that book. Now, I look forward to these books, these times when I can't put a book down and I don't want to do anything else but get lost in them. « less
