After reading Eragon I was eager to continue Eragon's story in Eldest. It was pretty slow in some parts but the ending was all worth it.
Paolini's writing is entertaining and the whole story is very well thought out. The book has it's pros and cons but overall was a fun and intriguing read.

Not being much of a fantasy reader I picked this book up as something different from my usual reads.
The plot is well thought out and one of the best I've read, the characters are superb with so many things to them.
Asoluetley fell in love with it and can't wait to read the next one.

Simply put. I loved it. I expected to enjoy it but to gobble all 400 pages in three days? No, not really.
The characters are fantastic and the plot line moves so well I was left breathless. I love how you're a kept guessing on whom of Lilly's suitors will win her heart and I was very much pleased on the outcome.
I look forward to reading Klassen's other book "Lady at Milkweed Manor" I doubt I will be dissapointed.

  • Abraham Lincoln's World
    • Rated 4 stars

Genevieve Foster has a way of bringing history to life in a way that you can't imagine.
These books are unique because instead of giving you dates and facts about Abraham Lincoln's life they give you stories including facts about famous people who lived during his lifetime. I learned so much more out of this book then out of any history text book I've used.
Maybe I'm just a history geek but man, I really love these books.
Genevive Foster also wrote "George Washington's World", "Captain John Smith's World", and others that I can't remember the name of right off the top of my head.

  • Broken Days
    • Rated 3 stars

The sequel to A Stitch in Time, Broken Days was disapointing at first. Set twenty-two years after the first book the characters you grew to love have changed. But as the book goes on you learn that the characters are still the same just older and wiser and you grow to love the new generation of the Chelmsfords too.
Elizabeth (Ebie) Chelmsford is Cabot's daughter her mother has left and she is under the care of her Aunt Hannah while her father comes in and out of port.
Ebie struggles with being excepted and loved by her bittered Grandfather for reasons you would have to learn in the first book.
Walking Breeze the indian girl "walks" into there lives claiming to have proof that she is Thankful's daughter.
Broken Day was sad but has a good ending and was all around a great book. It had some boring parts but was a great continuation of the Chelmsford story.

  • A Stitch in Time
    • Rated 5 stars

A Stitch in Time is basically about a broken family and trust.
Hannah makes the effort to keep the family together as her siblings break away from the already broken family. Hannah tries to peice the family together by making a quilt out of swatches of cloth from different people who at any time ment somehting to the family. Each of her sisters takes a peice of the quilt when they leave to add to it as they meet new people Abigal to sea, Thankful to the west, and Hannah keeps a peice at home.
I really enjoyed this book and really shows what a war can do to a family. Rinaldi is one of my new favorite authors :).

I'm a amazed that after 16 fantasy books before this Brian Jaques is still going strong.
Every character is perfect with there own distinct personality and who dosen't love Dibbun talk it is so cute!
I love how in the end it says "I will lay a place at our table for you and hope you can join us, if not in body, then in the world of your imagination, where you can visit us any time"
Redwall is the picture of serenity and I can't get enough of it.

Recently I've been reading some books that have let me down....this one was a breath of fresh air!
Interesting plot line that actually goes somewhere, a little bit of romance (that never hurts), and best of all great characters.

Oscie Mason is young girl with a mind of her own, and she knows how to use it. When her mother marries Will McLean a man of the "new south" her world is turned upside down, and to add to that there is a war brewing.
Join Oscie as she struggles with patience, love, wisdom, and...Will McLean.
This book is excellently researched. This Civil war through Oscie Mason's eyes brings new light onto that terrible but courageous war.

I read this when I was younger and it became a favorite. Making the story from the animals point of veiw is really inventive and makes it fun for a younger audience.
I learned a lot from the book!

I had trouble getting into this book but after the first couple chapters I was hooked.
One of the best series you will ever read, with humor, friendship, adventure, and conquering of evil...what more could you want.
