Nontechnical but inspiring story of a knowledgeable woman who suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, documented its course, and recovered full functionality.

Interesting details about the German occupation of Guernsey but I did not care for the epistolary format.

  • Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln

This author makes history as interesting as fiction. Abraham Lincoln's ascent from self-taught lawyer to one of our most accomplished presidents is phenomenal. It is encouraging that a person of such melancholy cast of mind can contribute so much to the world. Hope our next president takes a clue from Lincoln and includes his worthy rivals on his team.

Highly recommended for nonprogrammers. We can now understand why our computers freeze and crash. "Software is hard."

I listened to this as an audiobook and it piqued my interest. It served as a good prequel to "The Tudors" on Showtime. I can understand how a vibrant, sexually alive teenage could wither into a bitter, desperate, pius queen after years of disappointment. I can overlook the change in her complexion and haircolor from the book to the series, and the fact that she still retains a Spanish accent. Overall, I recommend the book and the series and will read more Gregory books. Thanks, Catsears!

I cannot understand the popularity of Cold Mountain. This is The Civil War Novel for me. Only the ending was unsatisfying.

It's more than a book; it's a life! When I finished this book, I immediately went back to the beginning and read it again. Didn't want this life to end so soon. Afterwards, the next few books I read seemed pallid by comparison.
