I recommend it as a good read, but having a graduate degree in economics, I do so with some reservation. I would not suggest it as an introduction to economic theory. The book is riddled with nuggets of wisdom, but is also a little on the dry side at times. I will keep in check my tendency to lecture. : Heilbroner wrote a good book called The Essential Adam Smith which is much shorter. If you are looking for a book that is more of an introduction to economic theory or history of economic thought, let me know. Having said that, Wealth of Nations is the Bible of Classical Economics. Remember that Smith's book is representative of only one school of economic thought. Let me know what you think of it. Happy Reading. :)
