Hello I hope you are doing well. I have to tell you that I was visiting your shelves and suddenly I saw Black Like Me. I read it in my high school lit class and had forgotten it until I had seen it on your shelf. Thank you. It is amazing how many stories have come back to my memory. This is a wonderful thing.

The all nighter was great and the girls had tons of fun, read and had the run of an empty school. They even went into all the boys bathrooms, just because they could.

Thanks to the diligent work of my cousin Chris, I have a good selection of family photos. (It just breaks my heart when I find a collection of old photos with no family connected). My avatar is my great grandmother. More pics at http://www.gjbgraphics.com/usefulstring/oldfamily/index.html

How did you like Starvation Heights and Deep Dark? I just finished Starvation Heights. Thought it started out good, but then started to drag about half way through. Havent read Deep Dark yet.

I agree. Perhaps the profoundness of it comes from its utter simplicity rather than its immense depth, making it doubly so? No thank you necessary! I hope the nonfiction group offers you some knowledge of interest that you may not have come across otherwise.

Very interesting! I did a 10-week study on the trials about 12 years ago in a college research class. We were allowed to pick anything to study, so I chose the trials because it was something I saw often spoofed but didn't know much about.

I became instantly entranced with the entire situation. Just knowing that society was able to wrap itself in such a fit because of a handful of people - which is presented throughout our country's history - was just fascinating.

I also teach "The Crucible," so I go into the historical aspect of the time period and how easy it is to find oneself wrapped up in the "hype." I even do a little experiment to show them that they too are easily pulled in.

I visited Salem a few years ago, and since you are related to the Corey's, I have a question that has been bugging me since I was there. In the graveyard, there is a map that shows that Giles' first wife is buried there. I walked all around the graveyard and only found an unmarked tomb that was in the spot where the map sent me. Is that in fact his first wife? And if so, why is her grave unmarked?

By the way, I found "Mayflower" in the library without having to reserve it (or do an ILL). I'll post a review when I'm done.
