Those who are supposed to know call me a multi-genre author, which is a nice way of saying I had a hard time finding my writing niche. My debut novel, If Truth Be Told, was released by Five Star/Thompson-Gale in June 2007 and was tagged by the publisher as Romantic Suspense. Say what? Whatever they called it, it must have been okay, because the first printing sold out in 4 weeks. Even I don't have THAT much family! My second novel was released in March 2009, Of Words & Music. Then I figured out what I write. It's mystery.
The first in my LIVE mystery series, LIVE Ringer, was released in April 2010. The second, LIVE Ammo, is due out December 2011.
Yes, it's been a crazy busy few years. Details and lots more are available on my website at www.fitzgeraldwrites.com.
I love Georgia (seasons and the mountains), Florida (particularly the few remaining deserted beaches), dogs (I currently have one aging Cairn Terrier, a German Shepherd (I call her a German Shedder. If you want to know why, check out my carpet!), and a half Shepherd, half something else that also sheds like crazy. My fur-family is the light of my life, as well as live entertainment.
What am I doing right now? I'm attending Killer Nashville, a mystery writers conference in Tennessee, where I'll be sitting in on two panels. Then it's on to the Decatur Book Festival, where I'll be sharing a booth with Florida author, Leona Bodie. While we're there, Leona and I will be interviewed for NPR. In February, it's up to Lumberton, NC for Book 'em North Carolina, a gatherinig of authors and readers. I'll be appearing there with Michael Palmer (and about 74 other authors!), international best selling author of medical mysteries and one of my favorite authors.
After that, who knows? Whatever it is, it will be wonderful!
