OK, well I am back. I might not be as involved here as I used to be simply because my life has gotten a heck of alot more complicated recently. I will actually be here on a limited basis again now though. :-)

    Eclectic Book Club Peeps:

All righty, let's have those nominations for our next big read. What's everyone in the mood for?

Post your selections in the "Genres" thread and we'll hash it out. If that takes too much energy, I will put all genres nominated in a hat and pick one at random!

Hi Lylah. Long time since I checked in with you last. :-( Have you read The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan? It's my latest 'discovery'.

Someone told me about that you can click on a person's shelf and look at the bottom left for "books in common". If you click on that, it'll show you what they are. Pretty neat! I'm going to bug all my buddies ...

HI! I was wondering how the (extremely brand new) Paranormal Mystery group was shaping up and noticed that we've got more new members. You're a familiar name :)

Good to hear that Thanksgiving went well. Somehting to be thankful for? :-)

A pity that you can't apprentice yourself, since a motivated student beats youth every time!

Here, you can take goverment funded student loans until you're 45, and the interest rate and the mortage is set as a percentage of your income, instead of a percentage of the loan... every can pay even though everyone might not be able to pay back the whole loan.

But I'm rambling. It's good to hear you're keeping up your craft. I'm trying to get myself an engraving set and tools so that I can take up engraving again...but second hand is hard to find and new is too exspensive.

I'm going to order about twenty 2nd hand books from amazon to christmas...trying to keep up with all my series :-)

    Rambling again :)

That's all right, we are used to being included as part of the US. We even had a local community put on a turkey supper on Saturday, maybe they're trying for international harmony.
It was a good supper. anyway. I hope yours was.

Much as I enjoyed Parable of the Sower, I don't think I would want to read it when I wasn't emotionally ready to handle it. This time of year is particularly bad for me because of seasonal depression that typically starts in November and ends sometime in January. I have lots of books to read too. Next up is one I got from the library - The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue. It looks good and I read your review. :-) Then, if I'm feeling up to it, I'll read a true crime.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hmm, I guess you're wishing me a good thanksgiving - nad for htat I thank you. We don't celebrate that, but I like the thought of it...but the holidays aren't for me. I put up with them for my kids, but personally, I'd rather not have them at all...

Good thing is I get two week of reading time and spending time with the family.

I hope you have a marvelous Turkey day :-)

Thanks for telling me you picked up one of my novels, Lylah. Readers are cool people. It is always an honor to be read. I don't know how to access the private messaging in Shelfari yet, if it is working. Just FYI. Love to hear how you feel about the Okal Rel Universe. It's a growing phenomenon on multipel fronts.
