    I too love Lord of the Rings. I hate to say it, but I wasn't motivated enough to read it until after I saw the first movie (I know, I know, the shame). It is was glued to my hands. I even read the introduction and according to it, LOTR is NOT a trilogy but is a single book that the original publishers insisted on breaking up into three parts, presumably because they thought it would be too daunting for readers if it were a single book.
