“I loved it until the end.

I couldn't put it down. Yet it's hard to read something when you want to yell at the characters and hope that they make better choices than they do. It's a tragic love story. ”

“I read Brideshead by recommendation from my mother. I love british lit and this book was no exception. This was my first Waugh and now I want to read everything she's ever written. Plus Sebastian's character reminds me so much of a person in my own life that I was hooked. ”

“I first read this in a humanities class in college and I was taken away with it. Not realizing that Mark Twain wrote it, I assumed is was a more modern take on the events of Joan's life. The book is packed with information yet it's written so well from Joan's perspective. Excellent. ”
