LostinPages

I am a 33 year old who loves to get "lost" in the pages of books. Reading is my escape from the busyness of life. Some of my favorite places are libraries and bookstores, especially Chapters. There's nothing like a trip to Starbucks and a wander through Chapters. It's bliss!! LOL. I am always looking for new and interesting reads and will... more »

Hi, Lost. I am the author of The Sandal Maker, a new novel about the public ministry of Jesus. You can read the first chapter by going to scribd.com and searching for the title. I am including here the publisher's notes from Amazon.com. Let me know what you think.

    Book Description
Caleb, an elderly Jew, leaves the safety of his home in Cana on a mission to find a man he believes is in Jerusalem. Miriam, Caleb’s only remaining child, accompanies him disguised as a boy. In the desolation of the war struck Galilean countryside, father and daughter risk their lives to journey south on the Jordan River trail. As they walk, Caleb intrigues Miriam with a captivating story of his youth that will change her future destiny. A story of a time forty years prior when he became a sandal maker in order to observe a man some called the Miracle Worker. Caleb secretly kept notes of the events he saw and heard as he followed the crowds. With his objective, skeptical point of view, he reveals the fascinating ministry of the one he called the “Master.” Heart pounding perils and the threat of death endanger the two travelers, but nothing could foretell the fate awaiting them in Jerusalem!

    From the Publisher
    A. Michaelson's new novel, The Sandal Maker, takes the reader on a fascinating journey back to the year 70 A.D. in worn torn Palestine. The author creatively weaves two stories together, one in the present, the other in the past. Heartwarming, enlightening and tragic, The Sandal Maker paints a portrait of one man's life and his involvement in how the gospel came to be.

    Hi,
Our team needs a favor from you. Can you read a tagged England book either this week or next week? We can use the extra 30 points that would bring our team. Any book will do as long as it's tagged England.
    Thanks.

I saw your note on the group. What kind of books are you looking to read? I'm wanting to clear a bunch of classics off my shelf at home so that is probably what I will focus on instead of children's books.

I figure there will be a post with definite rules before Oct 1st. I went through Anita's post with the rules we know so far and added a discussion to our group. I thought it might help us brainstorm ways to get more points.

I don't mind the animal aspect of the circus but I hate clowns. Coulrophobia is the offical fear of clowns - I don't think I'm that bad but they just freak me out! There's no creepy clowns is there?!

I have only read the first one but would like to eventually get to the rest of them! There are just so many great books waiting for me that these keep getting pushed a little farther down the list. That combined with the fact that I accidentally read a spoiler means I haven't picked up the second one yet :(

    HI LostinPages,
I just wanted to take a moment to welcome you to Play Book Tag (pbt) group. We love to hear from our new members so please chime in on the discussions. Also should you have any questions we have a Faq's thread you can read or you can ask me or any of the other veteran members of the group. Everyone is really nice and helpful. Here is the basics of the group. Every month we pick a tag to read and then we share our reviews with each other. This month's tag is "Inspirational". I plan on reading "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis. I have never read it. I see you like Dee Henderson. I am really going to have to read a few of her books as well as recommend her stuff to my mother. She just discovered Beverly Lewis. lol. Anyway, Happy Reading!!

Hi LostinPages! I just wanted to welcome you to the Canada group. There is a "Welcome and Introductions" thread going if you want to introduce yourself; we've been talking a little bit about some of our favourite Canadian "things" in that thread. And of course, feel free to add to the discussions already going on, or if you want to start a new discussion, please go ahead. Enjoy!
