Wow, that took longer than I thought it would. The post office said around 4 days, which was clearly a lie! Anyway, I'm glad they arrived. I totally agree with you about snail mail. I love it. It's more intimate than writing online because you actually are holding something that the other person wrote and held not that long ago. And seeing a person's actual handwriting does feel more human.

I hope you enjoy the books!

Hello, American expatriate. I currently live in the Chicago area and see that you are originally from Illinois. I also see Vonnegut on your shelf! One of my absolute favorites. I have also read Middlesex and have others in common. Hope you have a great day.

PS: Sorry for the late reply! I've been knee deep in report cards lately and a tooth that had to be pulled. Ouch!

It's rolled in with a vengance. Blowing snow and icy sleet. We could only wrench open 1 door of our car the other day! I had to climb over the seats to drive. Crazy! We're plugging our car in tonight for sure.
My daughter is doing well. She's pulling herself up on furniture and walking her way along the edges. Into everything with a great big smile. =:) We installed cupboard locks to keep her safe.
Thanks for the info on the Roanoke book. I'll look it up on your page. Did you end up reading anything about Nikola Tesla?

California is great. Are you from the U.S.? I would love to go to Europe and am hoping to soon, though I understand it must be difficult moving there from somewhere else. Adjusting to the new language and everything. It sounds wonderful though!
