YA fiction is what I love, but I read adult fiction too.
I'm a mom and love reading to my kids and encouraging them to get lost in books.

That is quite the statement, considering that there are tons and tons and tons of super cute bunny pics! :) Which is why I'm trying to start a bunny pic invasion on here in honor of Spring/Easter. lol Anyways, the picture has words, but I couldn't make them fit. http://www.quickmeme.com/meme/3rvn2l/

    Do you remember that song?

Yes! School librarian would be really fun. For some reason, our city library's YA gets hit the worst :(

Oh! I would LOVE your job!!!! Ordering's got to be the best!!!!!! Our library has no money to order new books. PLUS, the YA books get stolen and the library doesn't track the losses, so they never get replacements. I used to donate all my new YA hardcover books, but now I give them to the high school library, where I know they won't get lost.

Yes. Saba and DeMalo are so strong and passionate and warriors.

Riiight. I'd forgotten that. But here's what I was thinking...I think that, in a way, Saba and DeMalo are made for each other. Just not in a perfect way. So it gets kind of hot when she's around him because he could be a mate for her, even thought Jack is the perfect person for her.

Oh wow! I wonder what's taking so long? We should get Hope to do that. She's got a lot of free time on her hands. I'll go remind her haha!

I thought that DeMalo was smitten or in love with Saba, but I didn't know how crazy he was. I was kind of hoping he wasn't going to be crazy, that he was going to end up being a sort of good guy. Boy was I wrong! xD

I know, about wishing there was more of Jack. He'd better be in the book more next time!

The heartstone? Did it do something different in this one? Did is sort of go off around DeMalo? I can't remember. If it didn't, I think it's the one magical element in the story...although we have to keep in mind that there was that female seer person, so there are more mystical elements to the story than just the heartstone.

I agree, it is more adult than most YA's.

Yes, the whole book was bad stuff happening, which made it hard to read. But it kept me reading with the hope that Jack's choices would finally be explained and things would be well. But then they haaad to throw in that Tommo piece right at the end to bring us down again, hahaha!

I'd LOVE to talk with you about it. I wasn't surprised that DeMalo had a thing for her. I saw that coming in the first book. I think Saba is, like you say, impulsive. And she's young. She's got no life experience (although she's getting it). She was really lost, confused about what path she should take so when this older guy said he knew what her path should be, she went with it. I can see a young woman doing that in real life. Remember, she was upset seeing Jack working for the other team right before this happened. Lugh...something bad happened with the King. I think it was causing rough stuff between her and Lugh. And Saba had changed so much since he last saw her. He was having difficulties dealing with that. I'm very intrigued to see how Lugh and Saba move back together in the third book and I'm frightened to see what the deaf guy is going to do!!!!!! AAAAAA!!! That last page of the book was creepy! You know he's going to do something bad and cause someone we love to get killed. It just feels that way to me.

Oh I'm so glad. :D I LOVED it too! At first I was a bit worried that it would be a cliche murder mystery story like it was set up in the first half of the book but that twist completely blew my mind. I thought the ending fit the bill and the characters, but I knew that's one thing that readers either love or hate about it. I'm doing it for my book club on Feb. I'm going to reread it now that I know the twist and stuff and see if the ending still holds. But yeah, definitely watching a train wreck.

You might like the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter, too. It's got the same feel.

Good! Because I don't think I can bring myself to read it.

They're so sad and funny and action-y! I have a hard time trying to connect things between the two series sometimes. The whole time difference messes with my mind! I'm glad you're reading the books! I can come bug you when I'm not sure if I'm remembering things right! :)

Yes, yes they are! To be honest, I only really thought about adding the warning because of the fact that my sister's now in the group. And then I remembered that we do have people in the group who are under 18. lol

It's so good isn't it?! Are you kind of seeing how it ties in to The Chronicles of Nick?

No. I read snippets/quotes and decided that I'm not going to read the book. It just seems really...cheesy and over the top to me.

Hi LJ, thought I'd mention a really good Adult Fiction book: The Girl She Used To Be. I loved it when I read it several years ago and I just found out he's written a sequel that's coming out in a few months. Read the description of it and see if it's something you think you'd like.

    Okay, I'm finally replying. :P

Yeah, I've seen that theory online before. I guess it would make sense as to why he cares about the Herondales so much. :) But how could he in the brotherhood and be with Tessa? (Can they have a partner and be in the brotherhood?) Maybe it's Jem?

I thought that was Marbas? :/

Yeah, Dad took my copy back to the library, so I can't look it up. :/

Maybe it is Tessa! That would be cool! :)

I think it was mentioned when Jocelyn and Isabelle went to see the Iron Sisters, that it was someone Isabelle doesn't know and that she died in the Mortal War. I think that storyline was just there to show why Izzy is how she is.

Thanks! I borrowed Iron King on my Kindle from the Library. It looks like the others are available as well, but if I have trouble getting any of them, I'll let you know. I'm not very far into it, but I'm enjoying it!
