Don't read the Chicagoland Vampires series yet. Wait til the next one comes out in November. Trust me, the last one was great but ended with a great big WTF. The author was quoted on her blog saying "Trust me. Say it over and over until you feel better." So, I would wait.

It's kind of Laurell Hamilton -ish, but not as good. Yes, plenty freaky. They're shapeshifter/vampirish people who worship the moon and the main character heals and gains new powers with sex.
