I'm an author with three books published and two coming out in the fall of '07. Of course I love to read. My tastes in books are eclectic, which makes reading all the more fun.

You can find out more about my life as an author at: www.lisagriley.com, and more about my reading life right here.

I'm just about to finish this book, "Consequences of Sin," and that I've added to my shelf. I purchased it in Dulles Airport before leaving for Paris (July 19th) and have read it so easily. Last night was most wonderful reading it in the sleeper car with my private light highlighting the pages. I'm less than twenty pages from the end. I shall always remember this book whose heroine went through a lot, but the writing was not melodramatic. In its simplicity of prose and dialogue, this has been a perfect study for how to simply tell a story AND what the market is looking for in telling a story. At times I felt the author could have gone a little deeper into describing the protagonist, Ursula's internal experience, but that lack was more than compensated for in my love of not only Ursula but her wonderful and brooding Lord Wrotham. Upon reaching Bilbao, Spain where my eldest daughter has been studying at the University of Deusto, I suggested she read this book. Seeing that it is an Edwardian novel, she immediately added it to her list--that is after Harry Potter.

Though I have missed the Harry Potter frenzy, it just never caught me, although I love the movies, I found this book the perfect read as both a lover of books and a writer always looking to improve my writing.

Thanks so much to Clare Langley-Hawthorne. And I look forward to your series.

I hope to meet this author sometime since I am an author who lives in Oakland, California as does she.

I highly suggest you add this to your summer/regular reading list.
