I love relaxing and reading good books, going to book stores, coffee shops, open mic nights, drinking tea, dancing, writing poetry, working out, practicing yoga and just anything that is creative and deals with art for example pottery, painting, craft work. I believe in "living life to the fullest "without any regrets. Also, I have a passion for traveling to different countries and learning about different cultures. I've traveled to Zimbabwe, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, England, France, Mexico, Canada, US Virgin Islands, and various states in the United States of America. My favorite states that I have visited are New York, California, Florida, Washington DC, and Philadelphia. In the future I would love to travel to more African countries and perhaps visit India, Cuba, Thailand, Japan, and Italy.
My book of poetry Daughter of the Diaspora Freedom from Within has been published and ready for release March 29, 2010. My goals for the future include, running a full marathon in San Francisco, California and one day making it to the New York Marathon, completing my doctorate in Sociology and just being happy with life, and enjoying more traveling adventures to fill the pages of my passport. Last but not least, I plan to continue my work with youth and mentor more young scholars to complete college and further their education. Along the way helping women of color learn about their issues with health related issues. I would love for women of color to learn how to live a more holistic lifestyle.
