I am just another face in the crowd that happens to live on the same religion infested, government proscribed planet as you do. I am nothing different than anyone else you see around we're all human beings just with different purpose and different beliefs. I'm hard to get through to at times because, we may all be the same, but I for one still... more »

No, I haven't seen the movie. I only read and saw Dracula because we did it for school.

I'll read Interview With a Vampire. It sounds like a good read from the desciption.

Thanks, I'll give a go sometime soon...for the vampires. Dracula is the only vampire book I've read so far and I didn't mind it. There must be Vampires books that are better than Dracula.

Yeah I had a hard time coing up with my favourite book too. I'm sure as I read more I will have new favourites.

Tell me, is Twilight a good series for a male to read or is it a girly series? Vampires are fine but I hear there may be som romance in there! You know, us boys aren't really into reading that stuff. Too many DEEP feelings. :)

My favourite book of all time...I did just read a series called the Wheel Of Time. It's a fantasy series that has about 12 books so far, each about 800 pages. It took me a while to read them but it was worth it. There's still one more book to be published but I would say they are my favourite books. I am a bit of a fantasy nut but I like all genres.

Right now I am trying to read two fantasy novels, one nonfiction, one fantasy/horror, one escape/survival novel, one historical fiction and a mystery novel. I should really cut down on the number of books I read at one time. :)

    What's your favourite book?

Great. I do like talking about politics sometimes too.
I have been excellent at the moment. School's going well but nothing really exciting is going on.
How about you? Anything exciting happening in the US?

If you are wondering, yes, we hear a lot about America in Australia. Right at the moment it's all the election stuff with Obama and McCain. Myself, I think Obama is going to win. Not that I'd vote for him but I think he'll be president soon. Sorry, I am I boring you talking about politics? I am sort of boring myself with it. :)

Hey LinzyAnne I'm going great at the moment except I'm really tired. I'm glad school is over for the week.
I think Australia is really similar to the US. We're like America's younger sister. Well we were until we got a new prime minister. Did you know that? I often wonder how much of our news gets to the outside world.

HI LinzyAnne. Thanks for accepting my friendship request. I don't know what else to say. I guess I'm a bit shy. oh, I'm from Australia, by the way. It is a wonderful country. What country are you from? It's okay, you don't have to say if you don't want to. :)

Welcome to Just For Atheists, LinzyAnne. Feel free to add to or start new discussions or add books to our group shelf.

I don't think you come off as ruthless. I agree with you on that we all have different purpose and beliefs. We are all different even though we're all humans. I would like to be your friend if you'll have me. Thanks for being truthful and not worrying what others think of you because they're some of the qualities I respect in people.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello Linzy, I ran across your profile kind of on accident, and noticed what you said about religion in your intro. I wanted to let you know that recently a friend and I started a new atheism grouping to avoid the religius that infect the other two atheist groups. I thought you may be intrigued, please stop by and check us out. The group name is 'Just for Atheists' I look forward to seeing you there

I didn't recommend "The Host" because I'm sure you can find something better than this to read. The majority of the characters are two-dimensional caricatures, and at 600+ pages of repetitive scenes the plot often drags (where oh where was Meyer's editor?).

It's just one woman's opinion, but I can't imagine this book would ever have been published on its own merits. It owes its existence -- and its sales -- to the success of the "Twilight" series.
