Hi there LinnieGayl. Yes, I've thoroughly enjoyed that series and look forward to the next one as soon as it comes out. Also very much enjoyed the Tracy Grant book and am looking forward to the next few in that series too. Currently reading the Norwegian book by Jo Nesbo The Redbreast. I'm re-reading the whole series. NR has so many, I re-read most of her books every couple of years - and enjoy them each time.

Well, I finished Tomb of the Golden Bird, ending my first read of the entire Amelia Peabody series over the last several months. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series and felt as if the Emerson clan and their extended family were long-time friends that I checked in with regularly. I'll miss them. I had gotten the first books in the series from the library but am gradually putting the entire set on my Kindle so I can reread at some point. It is sad to think that there won't be any more AP books to follow. Thanks again for turning me onto to this delightful series. I may tackle the Vicky Bliss series next.
Oh, I just cracked up at the ending, too! That was too, too, funny. And poetic justice for Ramses.... Does the last book, Tomb of the Golden Bird, kind of wrap things up as far as the series goes? I almost don't want to read that book because I know it is the last. Boo hoo!

I loved Julie Garwood up till The Roses (I enjoyed the first one), didn't like Prince Charming but liked The Wedding and Ransom well enough. I love her earlier works the best. Did you read her recent historical? I haven't yet.
Linniegayl - I got tuned into the Amelia Peabody mysteries after the review of Crocodile on the Sandbank last fall on AAR. I think it was you who really convinced me to give them a try and provided me with a list of the books in the series. She does have a new book due out later this summer and I think it may be an Amelia Peabody mystery.Have you tried C.S. Harris' historical mysteries? They are set in Regency England and the main character is Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin. There have been 3 books published so far - What Angles Fear, When Gods Die, and Why Mermaids Sing. There is a lot of political intrigue and some very interesting characters. There is a romance in the story lines involving St. Cyr. You should look into them; I have found them fascinating to read. C.S. Harris wrote historical romances under the name Candice Proctor; her research is very thorough as she has a PhD. in history.
Hi, LinnieGayl. I noticed that you just posted A Fatal Waltz by Tasha Alexander. I just finished reading this a couple of days ago and thought it was great. I think this is my favorite of the series so far. I love the sense of place she creates with her books and the characters are wonderful. I hope the Duke gets a story; I really want him to fall hard and have a HEA!

There probably are a few more in common as I don't think I have all my Nora Roberts on my shelf yet. I've been thinking about those two by Tasha Alexander as well - they're recommended if you liked the Deanna Raybourn mysteries which I loved.
