I have been retired for nearly six years and love it. I am a Literacy Volunteer tutor and work with young Afghani mothers and love it. I also Record for the Blind once a week and read to grammar school kids on Monday mornings every week in the library and also love that. I don't seem to have enough time to read as much as I used to. It's nice... more »

Is that the Jane Kamensky, Jill Lepore Blindspot? It looks interesting. My TBR shelf is going to collapse from the weight soon! I just started Drood on audio, 24 CD's! Hope it's good to knit to.
I've been on disability since '98. My husband retired in 2007, same year my daughter went off to college. Sometimes I feel like I traded one kid for another, but she was much less trouble!

I'm in Washington, just north of Seattle. Lots of rainy days to curl up and read! I'm on disability & husband is retired, so we have lots of reading time. I used to be a Literacy Volunteer, but dropped out & haven't gotten back to much of anything yet - driving's a problem.
    Where are you?

    Hi Linda,
No, for some reason this group doesn't update correctly. There have been several posts since I joined - that was when I joined Shelfari in December. If you join, you'll see when there are new posts. See you there?
Are there other groups you'd recommend?

Hi, Linda. I am Gloria and live in southeast Florida. It was hot here today...in the 90's. I am a mystery reader, love many mystery writers such as Patterson, M. H. Clark, Carla Neggars, Heather Graham, Woods, Gardner, Alex Kava, Tess Gerritsen, etc. I'm even in an online yahoo group called Mystery Book Swap in which members exchange mystery books with each other through the mail. I joined Shelfari a couple of months ago to organize my endless supply of books.

Hi, Linda. I just figured out how to send a note back to you. LOL You figured it out before I did. How are you? I'm glad you joined this site too. I'm just finishing The Queen's Fool. I have about 50 pages to read. I've really enjoyed it so far. Then I have to read and rank these 4 books for The Reader's Choice Awards. They really aren't my cup of tea. They are short contemporary novels. Maybe they're better than I anticipate. I hop. Then on to letter G. The Glass Castle. Talk to againsoon.
