Linda in Maine

I just moved from rural Maine to MORE rural Maine, and my books are in a terrible muddle right now. I'm "shelving" them here as I try to bring order to them in my little house.

Some of my favorite books are very old, and some were published overseas -- can't enter them here just yet.

As long as I have my books, my computer and...more »

    More exciting news at the Suspense & Thrillers Group…as you already know that Keith Katsikas, author of “2060: The Newton Prophecies” will be leading a discussion on his book. We don’t have a date set up yet, but will in a couple of weeks.

    In the meantime, Amanda Stevens, author of THE DOLLMAKER, has also agreed to lead the discussion for May’s Group Read, which is THE DOLLMAKER. I’m really excited as this is something new and might become a new trend with our group discussions. If you’ve already read the book, come join us. If not, see if you can grab a copy. There’s still time as the discussion won’t begin until the first week of May.

    Dear Linda: I'm from Portland. My debut novel, HUNTING THE KING, just hit the bookshelves last week. You can even get them in rural rural Maine. Here's wht the book is about:

    HUNTING THE KING is a fast-paced page-turner that follows archaeologist Molly O'Dwyer into war torn Iraq in search of the remains of Jesus. ForeWord Magazine says: "Fans of intellectual thrillers and historical fiction will find a worthy new voice in Clenott. His best invention may be Molly O’Dwyer, a genuinely likable heroine who more than holds her own in a man’s world. An ambitious scientist, she is also an observant Catholic whose heart and mind don’t always agree. Given such an auspicious start, the sequel can't come too soon." Molly is an in-your-face woman with a mysterious past who is about to go on the adventure of a lifetime.

    To get a good sense of how exciting the novel is check out the heart-pounding trailer for the book at http://www.kunati.books/hunting-the-king-peter-clenott/. Or you can view it on YouTube or my web site at http://www.peterclenott.com.

    The sequel, TRACES OF A LIFE, has already been completed, as well, the first two books in a series with Molly O’Dwyer. In TRACES, Molly begins uncovering her own past while digging on an island in Boston harbor. Murder and cover-up and a mysterious past that many people, even those closest to her, don’t want revealed.

    If you have the chance, please let me know what you think. Thanks.

    I hope you will take the time to view my YouTube book trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-t0K34iU6g. I am doing some research about potential characters to play the lead role in the upcoming movie. Hope you can help me out. As Ralph Eggleston Director/Production Designer of Pixar Animation Studios said,
    "I LOVED the book! It's a missing, ENDLESSLY fascinating link to the history of Hollywood. Thank you for researching and writing it!! I hope it's been widely well received, as it deserves to be." Best wishes. Gaelyn

    Hi Linda;
    I was born in Maine many years ago and now live in RI in a restored barn. The author of “Knitting Circle”, Ann Hood; is from our area and is scheduled for a reading at our local library in February. I hope I can read her book before that and would like to attend the reading. My daughter was an English Major and she introduced me to this website and maybe she will attend as well. Your comments have encouraged me regarding this book.

    Hello Linda,
    Thank you for the invitation. Yourself is well accepted. I am not sure what to say about my profile. It only takes a split of second to know that I am a good addiction, I guess. Let me know when you discover more about me.
