I'm a freshman English teacher and speech team coach at my high school. My husband is also a teacher and drama director at his school. We are excited to be in the final stages of the adoption of our beautiful son, Zachary. The adoption journey has been a long one, and reading books often kept me busy and positive during the wait.

    Hello again!
    I'm doing great--junior year is pretty tough, but it's very exciting! Speech season is great! So far, I've placed at 4 of the 5 meets. I came in 1st place at Columbiana, 7th place at Fitch, 2nd place at Liberty, and 4th place at Boardman. I was so excited to make it to the semi finals at Boardman!! And when I made it to finals, I was estatic! I'm so glad I'm doing better. This week we're going to Poland, and I'm looking forward to it. Along with me, Megan and Sarah Mercer have also placed at some of the meets. Our extempters--both old and new--are doing very well. They've been getting high rankings in some of their rounds, which they're all happy about. So this years team is looking great!

    I just finished the book today. It's called Left To Tell and it's by Immaculee Ilibagiza. She's actually coming up to Walsh and I get to hear her speak!!

    I hope everything is going well for you! I just wanted to thank you for teaching me about the Rwandan genocide in my freshmen year. In one of my classes, we're going to be reading a book about a survivor and then discussing it. I am so thankful for the knowledge I got in your class!!
