This is an amusing concept, but unfortunately the writers have chosen to poke fun at the novels they're condensing, in addition to...well, condensing them. Most of the jokes fall embarrassingly flat, and you can really tell this was written by college students. The funniest lines of the book are, rather, the "twitterized" versions of complex/famous scenes from literature, ie:

Hamlet: WTF IS POLONIUS DOING BEHIND THE CURTAIN?!

Paradise Lost: OH MY GOD I'M IN HELL!

MacBeth: @LadyMac - THERE IS NOTHING ON YOUR HANDS, OKAY?! YOU'VE WASHED THEM 100 TIMES ALREADY!

And so on. Mostly, though, even the condensation of novels is overly simplistic. I'm surprised Penguin published this - considering how cool it could have been, it's a highly disappointing book. Had I known it was such, I would have just flipped through it in the bookstore instead of buying it - I suggest everyone else do similar. :\

An exercise in banality. Utterly painful to read.
