Turns out "What They Always Tell You" is set in Tuscaloosa (just down the road from me - also where my husband teaches "Roll Tide" - sorry...). Seems, based on what I hear from some T-town folks, the book is semi-autobiographical...cool! Doing an ALLIES (LGBT alliance) book club called "All the books you should have read in middle and high school that were banned from your libraries..." Your suggestions were quite valuable for this endeavor.

Have you read "Goth Girl"? What about Adam Rapp's new graphic novel? I am teaching an interim class in graphic novels - outside my department, so it is an interesting stretch. Anything you've read that I'm missing?

Read "After" and "Ash" this weekend. Thanks for the recommendations. I LOVED "Ash" - can't wait to see more from Malinda Lo. I was a little disappointed with the last page of "After." I didn't want the book to end so abruptly after drawing me in for so long.

I ordered all of the books you recommended. Two were on the shelves, so I am taking Ash to the beach this weekend. Thanks for the recommendations!

Thank you so much! I don't know any of these titles. I've just taken the "Chair" position at my college, so things have been a little "ARRGH." I'm going to guess these are on your page so I can see them, get them ordered, and read quickly!

Just finished three I think you would like: "Hot Lunch," "Generation Dead" (zombie teens - what's not to love?!), and "The Adoration of Jenna Fox" - I LOVED this one.

I took "Absolute Brightness" out to my backyard along with my first cup of coffee this morning to read beside my sparkling-but-still-too-chilly pool. By 3:30 I was sunburned, teary-eyed, and in love with Leonard and Phoebe and James Lecesne. Wow! Thanks for the recommendation.

Sounds fabulous! It's on my "after payday" Amazon wish list. Thanks for the recommendation. I'd love to hear about any other GLBT books you can think of.

I knew you would be a good "friend" addition. Thanks for the LN update. I'll keep an eye out for it. I've already taken note of some author names from your shelf.
