Hi Colours in Autumn! I just wanted to let you know that since your quote got the most votes and won the contest, you have been promoted to admin in the girls group! congrats! go check it out soon.
If you have time read starcrossed you'll enjoy it! :)
Thanks for joining the group! It's so nice to have a new member who's actually active XD
yeah I loved that series! I'm considering buying the first one :) lthat's very true :) and it's great to be connected to what you read. i think really good novels know how to connect to people. No the BOTMs don't necessarily have to be new!
I finally managed to power past that writer's block -- in the form of poetry. I put one on my profile.... Also, I have been working on another story (the one I mentioned before), and that's been going pretty good. I just recently added up all the pages I've ever written on Word, and I really surprised myself -- it was about 520 pages! It really is a shame; about half of that belonged to the stories I scrapped. It makes me sad to think about, but I can always go back and fix those up later.
Oh my Lord, that's HORRIBLE! If I were you, I would use as many dashes and parenthesis as I could, just to mess with her! My teacher told me that her professor back in college didn't like her to split infinitives, but she did, anyway. I have so much more respect for her, now....Yeah, sure, you can read it (--when it's published, that is!)! It still has a LONG way to go, though. I have all the details worked out; now I just need to stitch them together. It's going to take a while, but I'll let you know when I finish, if you want. I just started ANOTHER story, so the one I was just telling you about will probably be on hold. Anyway, I've been having the most awful writer's block. Usually, I can write for hours; however, now I can barely write a paragraph! It's terrible.
Why would your English teacher disagree? My teacher says her heart flutters when she sees dashes, commas, and especially semicolons used correctly!I'm writing a story now about a boy who is abused, not only by his father, but by his peers. He has severe (rapid-cycle) manic-depressive bipolar, and some anger issues, too. He eventually gets his hands on a gun and shoots up his school, although I'm trying to paint HIM as the victim, rather than the students who died. The whole story is in remembrance of the Columbine shooting; however, instead of it being in the viewpoint of a potential shooting victim, it is in the viewpoint of of the shooter. That way, instead of assuming by default that he is a bad, disgusting, and evil person, we have the chance to see that he is, in fact, a victim himself -- not necessarily the monster he will probably be remembered as after he shoots himself.
Oh, and great use of that dash and your commas! I love dashes, semicolons, and commas; they make writing so much more interesting!
Yes, I feel your frustration! I have about, say, five or six projects going, two of them being about 185 pages each (but I've decided to just let those sit; they didn't turn out exactly how I wanted them). I still write all the time, though; in fact, I love music, and that is where I get my inspiration, so I am continuously getting new ideas!
You're a writer? Me, too! I write in all of my free time, and I plan to be an author, as well. I already have a few projects going on....
I'm not reading anything at the moment but I recently finished Wrapped by Jennifer Bradbury and it was just okay. Lol XD yeah... I'm a pretty busy person but one of the only things I do to get away from my problems for a moment is read. It makes me feel calmer and i get immersed in the story such that my own problems go away for a moment. :) so reading is really special to me.
hey there, sorry it's been so long. still around?
Great! I;m so happy your enjoying it! :) I'm very glad that I bought it!
Oh wow, there are so many! I'm currently reading Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout because I loved her other book, Half-Blood! It's moving a little slow unfortunately but it's pretty good! And Tiger's Voyage which I'm putting off... And a bunch more that I'm forgetting... :) What about you?Oh, a good book that you should read is Ready Player One if you're interested in sci-fi or video games :)Have you read Unearthly, Angelfire, Incarnate, or Everneath? Anyway, all four authors are coming to this nearby bookstore on the same day! I'm so excited!! :DOh my gosh, you're a Christina Grimmie fan?! Hooray! I love that song; it's so catchy :D I actually know the body motions that go along with it, lol.Sorry for the long note!
Thanks! I love your shelf too! We have a lot in common! :)
