I haven't heard of that one.
I typically read historical fiction. I also love to read about the Tudors or War of the Roses/Plantagenets. How about you?
I'm an admin in several groups. If you are interested they are: The Historical Fiction Group, The Life and Times of the Tudors, The Lion and the Rose, Medieval Junkies. Let me know if any of these groups interest you and I can send you invites.

So glad that you asked to be friends! What kind of ereader do you have? I have a nook and love it. I have had a hard time going back to books I got so used to reading them on my Nook. It is so light weight and I can change the font and print size. I just love that.
I'm really enjoying Juliet. I heard from others that they didn't like it but I am really liking it. Looking forward to chatting with the author.

I think we both are reading Juliet by Anne Fortier. How are you liking the book? I'm loving it. I know a few people had problems with it but I haven't been having that experience. Let me know your thoughts

Welcome to Good Reads, Alenord. The group profile should give you some idea of how the group works, and the shelf provides a list of books we have read.

Last month we read and discussed Tinkers by Paul Harding; this month we are reading Await Your Reply by Dan Chaon; next month we will be reading Wench by Dolen Perkins-Valdez. Please feel free to post to any of the book discussions (old or new) and don't forget to vote for your favorite for our March read when the list is posted.

We are glad you joined and want to encourage you to participate.

Hi! Welcome back! I was also away from the site a bit- happens. I did read The Historian and sadly I did not care for it. I really wanted to- but no. I love historical novels, but this was too much history- not enough plot. The historians wife's disappearance and the reasons why she stayed away I felt was absurd. It finally picks up about the 45th chapter, but by then it was too little too late. And just getting there was an ordeal in itself. I literally had to force myslef to finish it. LOL sorry. I just didn't care for the book. But- that's my opinion.

I don't think I've read anything amazing... but I did read and enjoy the Beast. A book about clinical depression. I know, I know... lol But it gives you a look into the mind and life of a person suffering with "clinical" depression. It is very enlightning book and I do recommend it.

Right now I'm getting back to The Death of The Detective. Picked it up weeks ago and didn't finish.

    Happy reading!

I was going to say, perhaps such an attractive photo of a nice, sweet young person on the net is not safe, but I see you are a mother of a fourteen year old yourself, so I suppose you are quite well versed with security concerns vis-a-vis the net.

You asked about Harry Winston - the page jumped so this note - I think it would be interesting for anyone interested in lives of women around thirty, and this book is not cutesy. It is serious - but I thought DVP was too, though it was disguised in cute.

    Oh well...

"El Club Dumas" was outstanding and incredibly entertaining to read. Unfortunately, as it usually happens, the movie was a fiasco. It is called "The Ninth Gate", starring Johnny Depp.
Anyway, up to now, only Arturo Perez Reverte's "La Carta Esférica" has disappointed me.
Hope you do enjoy "El Club Dumas" as much as my husband and I did.
