    I was a fan of Crumb back in the 60's and 70's when he was doing the underground comics (the minute you look at it, you know immediately who's style that is). Man, I NEVER thought I would see him turn his talents to B'raishit! I reviewed chapter 19 (Sodom and Gemorrah) and really like what I saw and read. The only exception I would take to the book would be the depiction of HaShem. I think he could have accomplished his aims without drawing what is supposed to be G-d. But, that is just my opinion.

    I'm a lecturer in English studies here in Qatar, but I'm going back to London this week, so I'm looking forward to the second-hand bookshops and the galleries!
    My kids need to know where they are from, so its London for the foreseeable future for us!

    Lee, Wow! I glad you could see the broadcast live, but I'm sorry you're losing sleep. Ustream........well, they call it an upgrade, but they forgot to tell all of us broadcasters how they work. Man, you should have seen the names they were getting called, and in many different languages. Let's say that they were questioning the parental lineage of their mothers. I laughed so hard I almost forgot how pissed I was. A couple of broadcasters helped me get things back up and running again (B"H for the kindness of strangers!).

    I know how relieved you both must be that Yaakov was born healthy (having been in the same situation ourselves). I was so happy for the four of you that I couldn't wait to announce it on line (I get very emotional at the birth of children). I agree with your bravery at the very Jewish name; however, it is easy to be Jewish when things are well; it is a special blessing to claim your Jewish heritage when things are difficult. May Yaakov grow up to be like his namesake, and Ephraim & Manasseh. And, may your wif's time of healing be easy.

    As for your daughter, I think you may have a little kabbalist on your hands. Man, would I love to sit down with her and talk about creating the world!

    Unfortunately, I think my comments on Chassidishe scared people off. There has been no comments on the post. I sure would like to have an indepth conversation with a group about this subject; it has weighed heavily on my mind for the last few years.

    My wife and I got out this week and did some fishing for the first time this year. We had a great time; didn't catch anything, but had a great time!

    Hey, Leegeeeee! XD So glad to meet you again :-) Well, as you noticed i am quite busy with the study - guess what, instead the diploma i have chosen to study two additional subjects, called as diploma subjects. First one is "Multimedia and design for companies", I have some good stuff, will send you by email, because maybe it would be interesting for you. Yes, about the movie, will try to take a look - it should be good - trust your taste.

    I see that you have The Very Hungry Caterpillar on your favorites shelf. :-) I have a neat story about that book. I taught second grade for many years and used that book with my boys and girls to help teach a science unit on insects. One year one of my more astute students who loved learning asked, "Why didn't Eric Carle say 'chrysallis' instead of 'cacoon' in his book since chrysallis is the special word for a butterfly's metamorphosis cacoon?" I said I didn't know but why didn't we (the class) write a letter to him and ask him. We did and he replied. He sent us a giagantic postcard with the cover of the book on the front. On the back,in his own handwriting, he said that he knew that chrysallis was a more precise word, but that since cacoon was correct as well and that he felt it sounded better in the text, he chose cacoon.
